5' The first Leicester attack of the game is dangerous as Vardy 'megs Bailly in the box and it requires Blind to come across and clear for a corner. United deal with the threat.

9' The game is being played at a rapid pace with neither team having much time to breathe or get time on the ball. Martial's first chance of the game hits the side netting.

12' Shaw whips in a cross to the edge of the box that Rooney gets his head on but it's straight at Schmeichel who saves easily.

15' Another United chance comes from Ibra getting a head on the ball and it falls to Fellaini who swivels but Schmeichel saves and gathers eventually. Simpson is down and getting treatment but he'll be fine.

19' Vardy skips past Carrick and Bailly in midfield and then lays it off to Okazaki whose left-footed shot is deflected inches wide of the post. From the corner, Okazaki flies in at the near post and his header is destined for the corner but it flies off the bar and out of the box. Dangerous times.

24' Our front four are fluid and Lingard and Martial have swapped sides as of now. Leicester are dominating possession and play and have been for the past five or so minutes. No major chances since hitting the bar though.

27' Our passing has been quite poor and we can't keep the ball. Vardy, Mahrez, and Leicester as a whole have been sharp.

If we can get Miki or Mata for Rooney in that no 10 role, everything will start working for us. Without that movement from mid-field to final third with the lack of creativity rooney is brining, it is going to get boring and Ibra will have to start defending because he loves to see more off the ball.

My thoughts on the first half:

Solid defensively

Good offense coming from the right

Fellaini, zlatan and Rooney culprits of misplaced passes

Martial isn't as involved in the game

Left flank could contribute more offensively

Overall, not a bad half, however, can do much better

Feels so good to have competitive football back. What about that goal? Memphis, our no 14 seems to be twice as better as you at the moment

I'm just glad that the players are getting more minutes on the pitch to improve their fitness and match sharpness tbh. Don't expect them to click into top gear till at least a few weeks into the season. Right now it's all about building up chemistry and understanding Mourinho's style of play.

Edit: judging from some of the replies, I was misunderstood. Of course I'm not giving up on him nor do I think he should be dropped. I know it's early days, I'm just commenting on what we've seen in these last few games.

Zlatan's been nothing but selfless and sacrificing so far in the red jersey. If he winds up on the right, he stays there and presses. If we need men to press/track back/distribute he'll drop deep or out wide when and where needed.

If anything, he could afford to be a bit more selfish and stay up on the CB's shoulder refusing to contribute as much to defence & buildup and just waiting for the team to create chances for him to finish.

I think he's actually played pretty well so far, though nothing amazing. Physical, breaking up play, dropping to receive passes, and some decent pushes forward. The whole team has been struggling to push forward so of course our striker won't be able to do too much. We really badly need a Mata/Mkhi to come in for some proper service. Plus, if we get the Shaw+Martial overlap going, it will give Ibra a lot more chances.

He's had shit service and has no support from Martial and Rooney. Yes he's been average bu there's only so much you can do when you're up against 4 defenders on your own. Midfield is static with Carrick and Fellaini sitting deep and not making any runs either so he literally has zero support.
