You know, misery loves company and all. It's mainly because he's freaking out and feels like he's the only one in our friend group going through this kind of thing this early on in life. He even said as much. But I also think it's because he's secretly unhappy about the whole deal and might be questioning/regretting his decisions and comparing himself to the rest of us.

I generally try to be considerate and not flaunt how much fun I'm having travelling around, meeting new people and stuff. He keeps finding out and getting crazy jealous though. We had a trip planned out last year but he flaked out on me because his wife (finacee at the time) apparently didn't like the idea of him having fun without her. He resented the fact that I still ended up travelling with different other people and having the time of my life. Between his work and family, he's basically stuck where he is now and can't travel anywhere.

That said, he's telling me to 'hurry up and get married so that we can travel together as 2 couples'. Yea, thanks but no thanks! There won't be much travelling in your future after that kid is born I'm afraid, pal! I also traveled with a couple before and they managed to fight and be miserable in one of the most gorgeous destinations I've ever been to. Meanwhile, I was meeting and hanging out with all sorts of cool people. Can't do any of that with a nagging wife/gf tagging along!
