You managed to build a huge argument out of things I didn't say. My point was, it's not society expecting women to be attractive, it's biology itself. From where, if not, society got this ideal?

You're aware that for thousands of years makeup didn't exist and the biological imperative was just fine, right? In fact, back in the 1800s it was usual for the men to wear powdered wigs and makeup to help attract a mate, not women. You're aware that not every country in the world is a first world nation where the average life is so comparatively easy that they can expend that much time, effort and money into wearing makeup, right? And yet the birth rate in many of those countries is doing just fine?

This has nothing to do with what I said. Make-up improves the attractiveness of a woman and for a woman, being physically attractive is important for various reasons and that has been the case for "thousands of years" where make up was not there or for societies where women can't spend a lot of money in make-up.

You're also aware that even in somewhere as well off as the USA, that not everybody wears makeup, right?

I'm not even from the USA to begin with, but from a country where women are not afraid of saying that they want to look beautiful and that is very important for them.

If you seriously think that it's a biological imperative rather than societal pressure for women to wear layers of makeup, mascara, glue on fake eyelashes, etc. in order to attract the alpha males, I feel bad for you man. It must be really shitty to go around thinking that kind of shallow, inconsequential tripe.

It's dumb comments like this that are a big part of the reason that girls like this streamer are so shallow and insecure that they yelp and drop their phone if they catch a glimpse of themselves without makeup. She should be able to catch herself in an unflattering moment without having to fear the reprisals of thousands of virgin nerds being disappointed and disgusted with her because she hasn't spent the requisite 2 hours preparing her face for them that day, and then have to field idiotic insults from these 'nice guys' on Twitter who disapprove of her appearing in front of the great unwashed without having undergone her usual ritualistic preening for their pleasure.

Women wanting to be attractive is not a society expectation, it comes from biological imperative. No one forces this streamer to wear make up, but wearing good make up gives her an edge as it makes her look more attractive, which helps her become more popular as a stream, so can a charming personality or a push-up bra, that's how it goes.
