My first real encounter with a marketing chick was Amy. Amy was sort of getting divorced, at least she said that and started to date my friend who also worked with her. I didn't know they were dating. I fucked Amy and had her over the apt when my buddy walks in and then he hated me. She was fucking both of us and neither of us knew about it. Amy committed fraud by outsourcing design work to who? Herself. Amy left the company in May and I was fired for it in July since I knew about it. Amy never got in trouble for it.
Jennifer was a marketing director (at age 26) for an international think tank. She was cute and the nerds in charge liked having her around. She tried to get the president of the company more speaking engagements and television spots. She didn't even have cable television, so didn't know anything about any of the shows she was courting. Jon Stewart's producers called one day and she was sooooo happy.
I asked her if she ever watched the show (this was in 2002 before he became super famous). She said "no, but they said they do an interview with one camera and they ask the same question twice - one shot for the host and one shot for the guest." If you watch the show, you know that this is how they humiliate people.
I told her that if he appeared on it, they would make him look like a moron and she would likely be fired the next day. She freaked and cancelled the session. I saved her job.
Jennifer was very active in her "women's leadership group" and they were having a site built. They told her to change a hyperlink it would take an hour or two of work. She asked me and I told her it should take less than 5 minutes. She still wasn't sure. (remember her title: Director of Marketing)
Jennifer was in charge of managing the site redesign for the entire Think Tank before I was hired. At the end of 6 months she didn't even have a homepage design yet. After 6 months of her toiling with the web company, I was hired and I took over. Within 3.5 months the new site with E-commerce, an online magazine, an online bookstore, 10,000 pages of content with 14 policy centers (custom design) and a kick ass content management system that lasted 12 years was launched. They also went to Google's first page for Washington DC think tank and stayed there for 7 years.
2 years later, a company almost convinced her to completely change the awesome site that was built "because it wasn't written in a REAL programming language", but she was too stupid to know the difference. It was written in Coldfusion and SQL database, they wanted $100,000 to make it .NET - same functionality. Dumb Bitch. I had to call the CEO of the Think Tank to make sure he knew, she didn't have a clue what she was talking about.
My current boss, Director of Marketing is related to the owner. She's smart, has a great memory and acts professional (on the surface). But on two occassions she renegotiated someone's salary with them, then either fired them after they trained their "underling" or like me, she just came back from her European Vacation and said she changed her mind (after I turned down a hired paying job). Under her, within a year she has a 60% turn over rate. Most of the staff here except for the ones under the management of a MAN, has completely turned over, the rest of us are actively looking to leave and interviewing.
At your 1 year mark she begins the gaslighting procedure (click on the link if you don't know what it is), and she refused to give people raises after a year of work. She actually gave a really smart chick here a .25 cent raise at her 6 month mark and bragged about what a great boss she was. Can you imagine getting a .25 cent raise when making $35,000/ year? That chick took a job making $10,000 more a year.
At my 1 year review (3 months late), I told her she was the worst manager I ever worked with and that she would always be horrible cause there is no chance of her being fired (related to the owner) and that if she had an ounce of integrity she would try to learn more about management and leadership. She laughed.
I did work for a chick that completely fucked up a website project and I was asked to fix it, which I did in less than a week. Then she tried to lecture me on Project Management (I have 2 international certifications and 10 years of experience). I told her to go fuck herself and walked out. Both the marketing company is out of business now and the clients company is bankrupt and out of business.
I did work for a printing company in Skokie, Il (jewish - yes it matters), everything was great until the owner left town and put his daughter in charge, she asked me to do 5 more things, sent me their entire client list to do database work and when he came back he denied that his daughter asked me to do more work (I'm sure she lied to him) I showed him the emails, but he told me he wasn't going to pay. Wrong answer!!!
I wrote a 6 page letter explaining that if I didn't have a check hand delivered by noon that I would contact all his clients and tell them that his daughter accidentally included their credit card info with all the other info and I would reassure them that they didn't have to cancel their cards (ha ha). I told him that he would be on the news at 10pm that night for a story on identity protection.
A check was hand delivered by 11:30 the next day (a case where the woman fucked things up on a perfectly fine project)
The stories go on and on and to date, I can not think of one exception where a marketing chick was competent in her job AND professional. The common denominator is Women!! Unfortunately I was such a blue pill, I didn't recognized the pattern until this subreddit and started reading like crazy. Women, especially in marketing are fucking stupid and there is no excuse for it except that they are too lazy to become competent.
