I must conclude, after studying this sub, that my boss is a true alpha.

1. Constantly lowers my SMV (scientific market value) with strategic negging about my data gathering and analysis.

2. Maintains frame by severely limited replies to my reports and keeping his advice and management a high scarcity resource like a true alpha.

3. Dread games by dropping hints of firing me, but never directly saying that he wants to kick me out.

4. Tells me I'm arguing with him whenever I say anything that is not exactly the way he thinks it should be, because an employee has to be submissive at all times to be a good employee.

5. Raising the dread game level by cutting me out of an email exchange on my own project.

6. Allowing the alpha middle manager to put me in my place as a low status beta by screaming in my face whenever everything is not exactly the way it should be and telling me that I'm just not good enough.

Hilarity aside, it's sad how work can turn into something eerily resembling an abusive relationship.
