Most women are quasi-prostitutes anyway, selling their body in exchange for resources.
The real loss of power / protection is going 100% pro for women is : marriage is reverse-prostitution, where men are legally trapped into situations where they cannot get out of and cough out their life savings (only 3.6% of alimony pay outs are to men), not to mention child support.
And legalizing prostitution would, over a period of decades, spread the word of mouth about how raw the deal is for men in marriage, leading large swathes of men to prefer only casual relationships and prostitution to committed marriage (which explicitly disallows the use of prostitution as "adultery"; sounds like something adults want to do?).
The main worry about prostitution and the "vulnerability" that women will feel actually comes from the anxiety of being finally treated as equals and having no man to leech off of.
