Bastian Schweinsteiger's situation at Manchester United is "clear bullying", says a remember of Fifpro, the worldwide players' union.

The 32-year-old former Germany midfielder is now training with the reserves.

Dejan Stefanovic (not the ex-Sheffield Wednesday defender), told BBC World Football: "If this would have happened in Slovenia, we would have indicted Jose Mourinho and asked for the highest penalty possible because he’s setting a bad example.

“This is clearly meant to discourage Bastian. Unfortunately, a lot of our fans accept that. Because he’s idolised and he’s getting a lot of money, he can be treated differently. They do not perceive our rights as equal to their rights just because we earn a lot of money and that’s not right.

“He should turn to the PFA and he should file a complaint and I would also seek a penalty for Mourinho.”

He says United should "try mild measures. Reinstate him back into training with the first team. Of course this doesn't mean that he has a right to play, but he has to undergo the same treatment as most of the other players".

How far should the punishment go?

"I would take it to the ordinary court. In our case, the penal code is quite clear. If there is bullying and harassment, there's a prison sanction, a maximum of three years in prison.

"(This is) in Slovenia and in most countries in Europe, but nobody applies that (to football). Usually, in our case, it's enough for us to call the club and just threaten but nobody seems to have done it yet in England."

I think that this guy is an idiot, but why the hell Mourinho does this everywhere he goes. 0 competitive matches played and yet there is a media saga for all the wrong reasons.Isn't there a more gentleman's way to solve this with him and his agent, rather than telling him to empty his locker and train with reserves?

What he is saying is right, obviously this is blasted by those who can't handle anything even remotely anti United. We have a lot of shit players in our team, Fellaini, Jones, Rojo and more. These players aren't being forced out of the first team? There is no public knowledge that we want any one else on the reserves.

Schweinsteiger has a contract, he has an obligation to play for the team. If we wanted him out it could have been done a hell of a lot better that is undeniable, we are messing about a player who deserves a lot more respect.

I think his time is up too, but it could have been handled better, not "reserves or leave"

Those players you listed are all part of the plans so of course they are with the first team...

So the club should let all players not part of the first team also train with the first team squad then?

Because why should schweinsteiger be given special treatment as someone who's no longer part of the plans at all over the others who have been at the club for even longer? Because of his name?

Many clubs do this too. Hardly being disrespectful at all and just the way some managers do things.

But it's only a problem now because it's United and Bastian and mourinho.

Fellaini was definitely better than Bastian last season. He scored couple of goals and he's one of the reasons why we won the FA Cup.

Jones and Rojo ain't going anywhere. We need them as backup to Smalling and Bailly.

We have a lot of midfielders already and another one is on his way to join us. We don't have a place for a 32yo injury prone midfielder.

I totally agree that we don't need Scweinsteiger, actually last season it looked like a stupid transfer, but we did sign him and give him a contract.

That doesn't change the fact we are treating him like shit, forcing him on to the reserves, why not let him stay on the first team, give the man a chance to impress if he can. He could have been sold without the disrespect around it.

Holy shit balls...... Sending a player completely not part of any plans, to the reserves is treating him like shit? Oh my....

Why should he be given a chance when the manager has his squad profile in mind and has zero use for schweinsteiger as he sees it? It makes no sense on the sporting level. It makes no sense other than for sentiments and for fanboys to be given a lifeline.

He's never going to use him as of now. Mourinho knows what he's capable of but just doesn't see the need for it. So he's not part of the first team. As are others who aren't going to feature. Including Pereira and Januzaj lately too.

Just like how lvg sent Rvp to the reserves too as he didn't want him in his plans anymore. Only that he did it publicly in front of the team apparently and such but there wasn't an outcry from Fifpro members or feyenoord fans etc about this...
