Hello everyone,
Welcome to my Kickstarter page, we are going to dive into a little about this project momentarily, but first a little about myself!
I am a 24 year old, currently living in Idaho. I am attending college currently, and work a full time job as well to support myself and my lovely Fiance (and our cat, FeliciaTheCat)
I moved here several years ago for school and to reconnect with my brother, who has since moved away for medical school.
Recently, along side my schooling, writing and work (obviously personal time in there as well) I have been looking for a side project as a realistic and fun hobby to do.
One of my favorite things to do is watch movies, from old time movies, cheesy B rated movies, and everything in between. In fact, I feel there are hundreds of thousands of movie buffs out there that can't get enough!
There are of course movie review websites out there that have gained popularity over the years for their tough, sometimes even cynical reviews of movies, TV shows and actors, and these websites gain a lot of traffic because of the benefits of reading these reviews.
Now, if you are anything like me you view those websites occasionally to check out a good flick before renting, buying or even setting up a group movie night (maybe even a date night?)
The problem with those websites happen to be the primary function of them. They review movies, but they are professional critiques who's income and life depend on that paycheck. Their reviews (although very well done and generally semi accurate) do not realistically portray the movie.
Their reviews are hard to read, not for the every day movie goer, and don't connect with the audience.
That's where we come in! Our idea, our passion, our dedication for movies is what drives us. We want to create an honest website that shows accurately what the movie is about, which actors we liked and disliked, if it is good for a large group (meaning possible interruptions and tons of rewinding) or better for a few people after the rest leave.
We want you to know if a group of 10 people would love to watch, say the Minority Report. I would not recommend it, but I would recommend a large group of people to watch The Interview or Pineapple Express.
Now here is our twist! Our primary audience are people who love to (legally) smoke Marijuana. Our website is going to allow those who enjoy toking it up to see an honest review of a movie, (while the reviewer was experiencing the same toke as you will be), adding in other aspects, like how many people watch it with them, what the over all experience was, if it was hard to follow, or maybe had a lot of dry humor. Not quite convinced? What if we told you we are also adding to each and every review the amount and kind of green that was used during each movie?
Finally, you can have an honest review of a movie for the best time to watch it! Even with recommendations of what to toke and smoke.
Your contribution to our company project will be used for website design, network security, hiring employees, obtaining proper permits and business license, and much more. The funding amount is set to $1000, as this is the bare amount we would need (along side our own monetary contributions, hours spent working for free and such) but any additional dollar over the minimum amount will go strictly towards the company, website and design.
Note: We are NOT advocating illegal use of drugs. This is intended for legality purposes for those who are legally allowed to enjoy Marijuana. Use of illegal substances vary between county, country and state. Any use of illegal material is the sole liability of the user, not of the company, its affiliates or employees. We are not condoning using of Marijuana where it is not legally available.
Every project has its potential obstacles to overcome, and this one is probably one of the more challenging ones. We are basing a website around the use of Marijuana for movies, and thus we will obviously be experiencing issues with funding, as well as hiring and implementing the website.
