I'm probably gonna get downplasma'd here, but seriously, just after reading a few comments on posts on the front page today, common and debunked gems of selfish Imperial propaganda constantly pop out. Stuff like:
"Killing xenos and purging heretics were the only option and the Ecclesiarchy only does it to save lives" (this one's particularly selfish),
"The Inquisition is bad, but not nearly as bad as the Ethereals ",
" The Dal'yth Campaign
was the beginning of the end for the Tau",
"The Damocles Crusade was the war between the will of the Emperor (The Imperium) and xenos scum (Tau)" (I wonder where does Commander Farsight fit on this moral scale).
This sort of Imperial propaganda is no longer taken seriously even among many Imperial Guard regiments(and regarded as what they actually are: motivation for cannon fodder to use their barbaric melee weapons on civilians), but continue to be spouted by some Hive dwellers in the Imperium and are really just as bad as most excuses Kroots use. Seriously, do people still believe this mythology in 41M999? And if you do, sorry for ruining your holy Crusade.
