I'm delighted that the injury doesn't appear to have affected his confidence one bit. It happened unfortunately during a bombing run and I worried that that part of his game might have been affected but damn if tonight has been anything to go by...

Ibra is dropping deep, which is fine, both of our wide players are cutting in constantly , again not a bad thing, but both happening at the same time? The middle is congested as fuck and we are relying on Valencia every single attack.

The one thing with Valencia is he holds the ball and delays it with his right foot, making it so, so obvious he's looking to try to find someone and then.... Can't do much else. I hope Mourinho works on that with him to disguise it a bit more and also make quicker releases.

That's true. It seems painfully obvious as of late in his last few seasons with us to me but maybe I just watch things closer now instead.

He's a Fifa player's dream to defend against though as you know what he's going to do.

  • Rooney been tidy on his testimonial and has been swapping positions with Ibra ocassionally. There could be a partnership forming there, our two best chances came from Rooney to Ibra

  • Daley Blind and Luke Shaw have impressed me too

  • Everton parking the bus so this match should be a test on how we deal with that

Considering Everton seem intent on hardly trying this game and parking the bus, we haven't been too bad. Also not been great, could definitely move the ball about a bit faster. Not too worried though as pre-season gives no real indicators on how we will perform.

Lingard's been good but it'd be interesting to see how Rashford would do in the role. I don't expect we'll see it much if at all though, he's definitely going to be more effective through the middle but it'd be nice to see him on the pitch at the same time as Zlatan and Rooney.

After the first Zlatan chance, I got so happy suddenly. I realised I have missed watching a proper striker. One who makes just these runs and takes the first time shot with either foot. Simple, but so often brilliant.

Another thing that made me 'smile out loud' was everything Shaw did basically. The shot was going in without a deflection and the interception and run just after that corner...Lovely lovely feelings. Welcome back Shaw! We missed you

I most certainly think he's better than Alba and Luis. Alba costs barca so much its laughable, If Shaw is in that barca team he performs better than Alba imo. My top 3 would be Marcelo Alaba Shaw Luis Alex Sandro even tho he plays LWB.

I'm a little concerned about Martial. Hopefully he's just going through a blip and he'll be back to his best soon. Any other game and I'd like to see Rashford and Mkhi for Rooney and Lingard, but I'm guessing Rooney isn't going to be subbed.
