Watch Donald Trump Throw Crying Baby Out of Rally

Donald Trump made the mother of a crying child the butt of an unfortunate joke at his rally in Ashburn, Virginia on Tuesday. At first, the Republican nominee drew attention to the baby by saying he didn't mind the sound of crying. Then, reversing course, he told the mother to leave.

"Don’t worry about it. I love babies. I hear that baby crying, I like it. What a baby. What a beautiful baby. Don’t worry, don't worry. The mom's running around like — don’t worry about it, you know. It's young and beautiful and healthy and that's what we want," said Trump before returning to speak about trade with China. Then, as if for comedic effect, he went back to the mother.

"Actually, I was only kidding, you can get the baby out of here," the Republican nominee said to laughter and applause. "That's all right. Don't worry. I, I think she really believed me that I love having a baby crying while I'm speaking. That's OK. People don't understand. That's OK."

It's been a tough week for the Republican presidential nominee. On Monday, the GOP nominee defended former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes after he was fired due to sexually harassing employees. Last week, Trump attacked Khizr Khan and his wife after they gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention about their Muslim-American son who died on duty in Iraq.
