I come from more of a Red Pill background, but I'm uncertain exactly where to draw the line between the two communities. For an example of how I view The Red Pill please read my recent post titled Scarcity and the psychological economy of sexual keepers. I think you will find I am largely in agreement with the notion that men should not worship women, or chase after sex. I like the slogan "Men Going Their Own Way" but I am yet to see any real examples of what that means.
Of all the MGTOW posts I've read and videos I've watched, there are two common themes emerging. Two categories of posts and media. First, I notice that most MGTOW posts come across to me as straightforward MRA posts. They could pretty much all be summarized as "Can you believe how bitchy and selfish women are? They're basically our enemy." I don't disagree, but I define that as MRA territory where those guys are, for better or worse, attempting to undermine women's power grab through the same political mediums Jack Donovan would describe as "the grievance table." Second, there are some posts discussing the mindset of women. The how and why of their behavior, similar to Rollo Tomassi's book The Rational Male, which takes an evolutionary psychology approach to understanding women.
That's pretty much it. Web comics making fun of women and feminism, MRA concerns, and the rare discussion about psychology. From this, based on your own posts, I would define MGTOW as nothing more than a men's therapy session where you feel better after complaining about women and agreeing with each other. That's not meant as an insult, it's just an observation. I don't think that's how MGTOW sees itself, but like I said, I am an outsider telling you what I see.
To quote the side bar:
We are men going our own way by forging our own identities and paths to self-defined success; cutting through collective ideas of what a man is.
This sounds to me like the goal is more about re-defining masculinity and how men can best find happiness, but I see absolutely none of that in your posts. Shouldn't this essentially be a hardcore self-improvement philosophy forum devoted to men? I hate to say it, but based on what I've read it seems to me that you're just as stuck on women as the PUAs. You're not begging for sex, which I respect, but you seem to be spending your free time complaining about them instead of improving your own lives or coming up with better ideas.
If MGTOW is just anti-feminist, MRA already has that covered and is much bigger. If MGTOW is about the mindset of women and how to get what you want from them without falling into their traps, PUA and TRP already have that covered. It makes sense that MGTOW would be about how to be happy without women, which requires a great deal of alternative thinking and self-improvement, but like I said before, I see literally zero posts about that in MGTOW. Before you get mad at me for saying so, please review your front page and see for yourself.
I am very interested in hearing people's opinions on what the real goal of MGTOW is, and whether it has lost its way, or if you feel like this current iteration is a good example of achieving your goals as a community.
