The sound design and graphics are super immersive - it looks and sounds like you're in Star Wars. It's a shame there isn't more content or maps. It's fun in spurts of an hour or 2, but it's hard to play for longer since there really isn't a lot of depth.

    I someone who bought it for the full $60 I would say it's easily worth $20-10. If you're looking to just sit down and kill a few hours with a fun multiplayer shooter it's perfect.

            I recently booted it up again because I got new headphones and it's probably one of the best games out there in terms of sound design. A huge range of very authentic sounds. And of course plenty of that classic Star Wars soundtrack. DICE just knows how to make games sound good though, they've been doing it for a while.

            300 hours on the game here. They don't. Twilight on Hoth is the only large map that has a smaller map which is cut exactly from the larger map. The rest of the smaller maps are unique from the larger ones (with a couple having similarities) and they play very differently as well. Don't fall for the lack of maps hype, it's just not true.

                      I have never had to buy maps on Counter-Strike.. or any game I play frequently, now that I think about it. It's almost as if games that have excellent mechanics don't require the desperation of paid map packs to keep players around for another couple weeks

                          I played for about 10 minutes and was in complete awe of the graphics and sound then realized X-wings suck and haven't touched it since. I wasn't expecting much from the gunplay but I love battlefield vehicles so so much and was really hopeful. sadly looks beautiful but impossible to get into it when it feels like flying a boat through molasses.

                          In all seriousness though overwatch gets away with it because the base gameplay has a lot of depth. Look at mobas they get by with only one map because the different hero's change up the gameplay so much. Games like CoD or battlefront need a variety of game modes and maps because the gameplay doesn't extend much farther than killing lots of people quickly before you die.

                          Yeah they're very much opposites in that, right? Battlefront relies on this large battle army vs army setup with a few ultra powerful characters and vehicles sprinkled in to push the battle line in one direction or the other. Like a wall being held up by two opposing bodies of water and every once in a while a big wave brakes the wall and moves it. Overwatch is more tightly-nit, so you individually feel more important to your role, dictated by your character, and thus have more value to your team if you are good at that role. The gameplay is vast and varied and although it is limited to a few maps, games still feel different, especially if you change your role in it. Playing a healer like Mercy or Ana is totally different from playing a flanker Genji or Tracer for instance. Its tighter team cohesion. Not to disparage Battlefront, I think you can have a lot of fun with it, but I sometimes get sick of running into that wall.

                                          Well they did just add skirmish mode which is basically just offline mode with a couple of the game modes. The bots are actually fun to play against, and they added it/will add to it for free. A ton of guns, cards, and maps have been added for free since release.

                                          Skirmish is absolutely insane with the hud off. It's intense without aim ridicule and radar, and you need rely on the radio and AI movement patterns to reach objectives. Pair that with the highest difficulty and you've got an extremely difficult game. Only problem is there is no indicator of when you're going off the map or what powerup you have.

                                                    The game was actually very fun, I played it constantly for ages. But it did get a bit stale after a while, there was no real incentive to do any team work and I just ended up being a solo player running around doing my best, and getting called a cheater by the salty players of the other team.

                                                    What was worse was the EA mentality of "season pass". I reluctantly bought it for battlefield 4, but battlefront was defiantly not worth having to pay extra for the lacklustre content that would be released with each expansion.

It feels like the most lazily produced game ever, and all they had to do was copy the original battlefront game. Everyone would've much rather had a new version of the old game.

The Battlefronts were the first games I've ever played and I think my liking to the new one shows how much potential it still has. But EA knows that people are angry, and Dennis on Twitter really does communicate with the fans well; I'm not silencing the people who say the game isn't good; I just voice new things that may have possibly made the game better in their eyes.                                                                       I wouldn't say it "sucked" with out the DLC. Just that it could have used a few more levels. I found the gameplay and graphics to be awesome as is. Now I have bought $15 worth of DLC, I play it even more. Worth it IMO considering a night out costs me $50 for drinks or a concert is $40.

                                                                      I also dislike the DLC model, and don't usually buy it, but in this case the quality content made it worth it for me.

                                                                          Pretty casual. You can kick ass with most any gun if you're good enough. DLC holders do get some annoying gadgets but I haven't run into people using them too recently. Never have a problem finding different games in the same gamemode(xbone). There are only about four planets in vanilla with two maps on three of them.
