Silly season has returned for the 4th summer on /r/reddevils!

Most of you know the drill.

For those who don't...From today until the window closes, a transfer round-up & discussion thread will be made every day. In these threads, ANYTHING can be talked about. Any player, in or out, any transfer fee, anything!

Now, with these threads starting, this means that rumours submitted as separate posts will be removed unless they are from reliable sources!

Nah, he's a Utd player, the clubs just haven't announced it.

I've been confident from day 1 of this transfer. I said all along there's no way Juve will reject our offer and I'm standing by my opinion that this deal is done.

got my schweiny kit last year, was sooo happy that he joined united. But i guess things come and go unexpectedly and expectedly. I loved how he played when he was fit and that pass to Young who gave Martial his first debut goal.

Do we really know he won't stay/play? It all comes across as speculation and conjecture (and one very ominous tweet from Tobi)

My heart wants Schweini to stay, but I'm a reasonable man and can read the tea leaves. Here's a half-assed theory of keeping him: 1 Germany played late into the tournament so maybe he would've not been in Mou's plans to this point. 2 He did just get married, so the honeymoon could also factor in. 3 Maybe this is all dressing room tactics. Making other players feel he's been put back down a peg or two. Team with the reserves. Prove fitness. Get humble.... and hopefully play for us next season

I am still in some kind of shock in regard to Schweinsteiger. Injuries aside, it never really felt to me like he was performing poorly. Always felt like it was just the whole team performing badly, and LVG tactics being terrible. I remember the Arsenal (3 goals in 20mins) game, LVG had him man marking Carzola, and he was chasing him around every second. And we got punished for it because our midfield was so disjointed. But that was not Schwein's fault. It was LVGs.

It kinda reminds me of RVPs depature. He was amazing in 2013, then after Fergie left, we all knew what he was capable of, but he just didn't produce anymore.

I suppose it's weird seeing players you've admired decline and fall out of favor. It just feels so sudden when the fall out happens and here you were, hoping that 'next season will be better for him'.

Shop window. He's 23 and whilst he'll improve he will always be a bit of a defensive liability, great going forward mind. I think he'd make a better winger than RB.

Manolas isn't realistic this Window, Roma has a clause where they have to pay his previous club 50% of the transfer fee.

There are rumours that Everton might get Ashley Williams for 10M pounds, would any of you want to see him join us for the price?

I would personally love to see him here, would be a solid partner to Chris, or if Bailly starts off well, he could be a great cover for either of the starting CBs. One thing I am not sure about is how good he is with the ball.

Love Ashley. He is Swans talismanic captain though, so 10m isn't likely the price considering what the market currently looks like. He is a great fit for our squad looking at his leadership, age, and abilities. Wouldn't be around long enough to deter the likes of Roshaun and Tuanzebe's development. If we could find a similar defender for under 30m we should buy em.
