They also get rid of the catching location panel. Not that big of a deal since they were blank anyway.

The catch location panel has never worked for me on Samsung S6.

I wasn't until I saw someone's screen shot on here a few days ago that I even realised that was even supposed to be displayed....

They fucked it up together with the tracking system. Only July 15th kids will remember.

Used to think that was so cool, like it gave a little personality and history to each Pokemon :( when trading is implemented I hope they bring it back because it would be neat to have Pokemon from loads of different places.

I loved the location map but your comment just made me realize this one might be for the best, trading could cause people to know where others live/general area someone lives unless they change it to a bit more vague of a map which would be welcome for that part.

I've never understood this logic. I live in suburbs. If you've heard of my town, you know people live there. I know people live in Cleveland. I know people live in LA. Why does it matter if a map in Pokemon Go displays that?

Being vague such as just the town is fine, but it had a pretty close approximation to where you caught something such as if you sat in your living room and caught it.

Narrowing it to just the town would be great though and still keep the interesting part of location Pokemon were caught without showing the possibility of ones building/house that someone might not want known.

I also live in a small town, so if I caught something on my step and only my building was in the area of the map making it pretty obvious which building I lived in vs an area with several buildings it could be.

I still don't see how that is such an issue. If someone drives by my house, it's safe to assume someone lives there. If you look up my address on google maps you'll probably find out who I am. Sure you don't want to give out your address online, that's common sense, but the map doesn't have addresses.

It has an address in the sense if you are the only house in the area it's obvious it's your house. Could someone just drive by it? Sure they could, but doesn't mean I want to hand out my address to strangers either. The radius it did provide well the dead center was where I caught something, at least from my experience on it.

Basically it was pinpointing a location to others online (if they kept it the same for trading but no one will know for sure). Like everything nothing could happen or something could happen regardless of the scenario but you still take precautions when you can, same as I don't tell people I don't know my address either even though they could drive by me randomly some day. Each person will handle privacy differently though.

For a company, they probably wouldn't want to be responsible if something did occur due to that.

No, it didn't. It was a big circle. First it encompassed a few blocks (four blocks in each direction?) around where you caught it, and then after their first update (minor text fixes, just before the 3-step bug started later that day), it updated it so the circle encompassed my whole small 3k population town.

But now it's just gone, so it's a non-issue.

Again would depend where you were, for me I was the only building in the radius due to the small area I live in and it never increased for me. When I was in a town the center of the radius was where I caught something still leaving little to the imagination which still only encompassed a few blocks of the 4k population town.

But yes it's gone, and I am assuming, just to be clear an assumption, that they probably don't want any responsibility with what may occur by giving a location (other than fact it broke anyway to a blank white square before removal).

I am not trying to start a feud though, just enjoy discussions as each persons view on topics is actually interesting.

Same reason I, a complete stranger, shouldn't give you my phone number or address. It's not very smart.

That's a good point really

The day the map broke, there was a few hours of it being a much more vague map, it went from pretty much pointing out my house to circling my whole village

I must of been off the game during that short period, was still basically pinpointing my house to being a broken white square next time I opened it. Largest I seen the map was a couple blocks but a small radius and being dead center to it.

Vague maps are much better so good to know. Did your house still end up being the center of the circle though making it easy to figure out anyway?

I was excited about that feature as well since I've been traveling around Europe for the last two months and have caught quite a few Pokemon in each country :(

It even helped a woman catch her boyfriend cheating! On a serious note I thought it was also pretty cool to see the different places. Especially when you were traveling.

Yeah, I caught some Pokemon in London earlier this month while visiting family and it was a nice thing to be able to see where I caught them all around the city. Then it just turned blank and white. Really disappointing to have that detail messed up. I hope it gets fixed and remembers the location data.

I say good. That think took forever to load when it was working. And i couldn't do transfer before it did.

It worked just in the beginning of the australian start. After the Server crashes, they removed it and things like the footprints to get more players in the servers.

My Nexus no longer shows location caught or the foot prints as of this morning. At least they did fix the damn transfer button location, the fact that the close button would superimpose on it was scandalous. I've also notices that even shit pokemon are harder to catch, I fed a damn 200 CP paras 2 razz berries and it still escaped and ran off after the 2nd try. Same issue with some rattatas and ekans too.

This again is good, since now the transfer button won't get pushed down just before you are about to tap it.

[–]Hjzuma 1

The transfer button has already been moved to a separate menu. No need to scroll to bottom anymore.

Just when I wanted to get SOMETHING positive out of it :D

Nevermind then, just tried it, so at least that's a thing now.

They moved the transfer button to a separate menu requiring an additional click before you can transfer.

But at least that one is always in a fix place :D

They also changed the scrolling when looking at your Pokemon--it used to scroll way too fast
