My ex-girlfriend ended up getting pregnant and I was not nearly prepared to be a father. I knew that belligerence would only hurt the situation so I knew that false sincerity and acting like I supported her were my best options.

I tried my hardest to convince her to abort, and said that I loved her and that we could even end having two kids down the road if she wanted. I told her that the two of us were just starting our lives together and couldn't take on the financial responsibility of a child (this isn't true, I'm the beneficiary of a trust fund, but I told her my parents were dead). I told her that if she got an abortion now, we'd be able to plan our futures together so that everything went perfectly.

She agreed to this, and ended up deciding to get an abortion. I thanked the gods for my luck, and took her to the clinic, dropped her off at her house, then cut all contact with her and said that we were finished.

She started texting me non-stop and left twenty voicemessages on my phone. She said that I was an asshole, and that she was going to press charges for my "heartless" actions.

I was just planning on blowing her off, but now I'm concerned. Can she really press charges for this? Did I do anything illegal? Am I going to need a criminal attorney?

That doesn't make what you did morally okay

Morals are subjective and sometimes need to be put aside for the greater good.

What you COULD have done is told her you wanted her to get an abortion, and let her exercise her reproductive rights of her own volition.

And if she said no? I'm just shit out of luck then? No thanks, that isn't a risk I'm willing to take. I have no reproductive rights after conception, so my only choice at this stage was to hijack hers.

Instead, you lied to her and manipulated her into doing what YOU wanted, then dropped her during a traumatizing period on her life.

It was the only way out of the situation, its truly unfortunate that her feelings were hurt in the process, but sometimes you need to break a few eggs to make an omelette.

She didn't get to make a fully informed decision, where she knew that she would be alone in raising the child (which it seems is what she wanted to do).

When her decision has an enormous potential impact on my life, making sure that she is "informed" is not my priority.

In the future, how about displaying a little empathy for other people and letting them make their own informed decisions.

Again, her decisions have a major impact on my life. I didn't put a gun to her head, she is an adult. She isn't an infant, and she DID make her own choice. I'm not going to just sit back and hope for the best, when people are making decisions that could ruin my life entirely.
