So, you're saying not a ponzi?

Follow up, where can I throw my filthy fiat at all of this?

It seems like the consensus is that there aren't enough speculators to achieve what you are suggesting. Instead drug and gambling money make more sense as sites like AlphaBay Market and Nitrogen Sports are flourishing with BTC

You've got the wrong three special interest groups.

Bit-coin would do fine with a fraction of the current number of miners. "Early adopters" aren't ever going to sell their bit-coins, so they're essentially irrelevant to the day-to-day operation of the system. And all the development that bit-coin needs has already been done; every single bit-coin developer could move on to something more useful to society tomorrow, and bit-coin would keep running without a hitch.

The three special interest groups dominating the real economic use of bit-coin (as distinct from the many forms of gambling piggy-backing on that real activity) are:

  1. Poorly socialized consumers of illegal drugs
  2. Internet mail-order dealers of illegal drugs
  3. Bit-coin dealers (e.g. exchanges) providing the first and last legs of payment processing for internet mail-order purchases of illegal drugs
