Why is everyone so butt hurt? Its obvious they aren't going to leave an empty tracker in the game. It's no different from having a tracker with steps that never move and all of a sudden people are saying Niantic killed the game? I for one appreciate all the stuff Niantic gave us in the new update. I just don't understand why people are saying the game is dead!? Just wait, almost 100% sure it will be fixed.

Having a buggy tracker is arguably much better than having no tracker cause at least you can ATTEMPT to do one of the MAIN SELLING POINTS OF THE GAME.

On another thread it's being said that it was removed (REMOVED AS IN GONE FOREVER) as people were using the tracking and trespassing. In the dev's mind it's better to have people run into them randomly and gripe rather than track them and trespass. That is why the description of the game (on the website) was changed as well.

I seriously doubt it will ever be back. If they leave it "walk around and hope to find" Niantic has no active part in trespassing. If they turn the tracker back on and their app puts a rare on someone's property, they can be sued for taking an active part in the process that led to trespassing. (we both know "yeah, right" but people will sue for anything and courts will award settlements for nothing.) :)

How did you fix that? They added more than they removed. All they did was get rid of the steps that have been useless for a while until they fix it.

How do you even know they'll fix it? If Ingress players have told us anything, they may have removed the feature permanently for all we know and we know nothing. The only company I have seen that is more silent than Niantic is Nintendo.

And what they added is literally cosmetic. Character customization is something that should be lower on the priority list.

Its common sense. Why tf would they leave an empty tracker in a pokemon tracking game? lol. I do agree that customization should be less of a priority but I appreciate it as a gamer who loves cosmetics. Lots of other people requested it as well.

Power saving mode was also removed, because it had problems making things glitch as well.

The idea that every change or removed feature is permanent, or some ploy to force us to spend more money is just silly.

I'm just curious as to what you mean when you say "all the stuff niantic gave us in the new update" is? Change of clothing? text fixes? Oh boy!

People are not just butthurt over the tracker, Niantic refuses to communicate about anything at all, If they explained what they are doing and why they are doing it, With future plans atleast we would know, But as it stands right now the game is just getting worse and worse and we have no idea what will happen in the future.

"Just waiting" is pretty much the only thing we can do.

Yeah, as simple as it is I love the option to customize my character whenever I want. They also moved the transfer button which is convenient as well as locking your favorites and the new warnings are not a bad addition. I get how they haven't communicated at all to us but I can't see how the game is all of a sudden dead.

They don't owe you an explanation for a game that is free to play. Also, they may be more focused on, oh, fixing the bugs/planning the game's future. Not wasting time on a Reddit sub.

If they want money they do owe people some sort of communication. And don't be so narrow minded, they don't need to post on this sub; a facebook status update would even be enough.

And they have yet to fix a single bug as far as I can tell. Just keep removing features. I know they've SAID they fixed bugs, but every bug is still very much present.

No one is saying anything about reddit at all, There is no communication to be had ANYWHERE.

And the fact that the game is free does not matter at all, If you expect people to play your game you better make sure someone actually wants to play it.

No one is going to play a game where you never know what will happend next because the company refuses to talk to anyone.

Do they owe us communication? Obviously not, Brick wall

Do we WANT communications? You can ask the rapidly declining playerbase and all the thousands of people performing refund requests as we speak :).
