Sexy underwear is a huge thing in the gay community, with brands like Andrew Christian that cater almost exclusively to gay males. It's not terribly difficult to make underwear that looks good and accentuates the important bits. I know these companies have had some trouble marketing to straight men, but the product is definitely out there. Aussiebum is a good manufacturer that doesn't exclusively target gay men.

I think the bigger issue is culture- actually convincing some men that it's worth it to spend $20 on a pair of underwear instead of buying a 6-pack for $10. And it totally is ;)

Shit I've been paying $20 a pair for a while now just to get something comfortable.

I didn't know this! That's awesome. I guess the lack of mainstream availability and advertising made me think it wasn't as broad of a thing as it is. It's really unfortunate.

I really loved seeing this and I wanted to know everyone else's thoughts. I feel like not enough is done for men in terms of expanding existing underwear and clothing styles, so it's exciting to me that men can start branching out further and trying new things and exploring a different side of themselves.

I like the concept, but lace is just not my (very gender-conforming) style.

I could do lace but I'm not in to the flower pattern. It's mangeriè they need to work less feminine patterns in there of they want mass appeal.

As long as it doesn't rip out some leg hair, I'd try it. I tried on a dress a few times and I wish they were socially accepted from guys to just wear them because they're so damn comfy

Get a kilt. Claim to be Scots. Substantiate this claim with crippling alcoholism.

maybe seeing a guy putting in a bit of effort in the boudoir would be nice for once.

That's not insultingly sexist at all, huh?

I hadn't considered that but you're right. I do think that the overwhelming disparity of options for men and women sexually results in that line of thinking though - that men don't put as much effort in as women do to look sexy in the bedroom. So I see where they might have been coming from in saying it, but it is pretty shitty. Thanks for pointing that out.

I think any expansion of men's clothing options is a plus. I've had plenty of male friends complain about their lack of options when it comes to dressing up. It would be awesome heading out the club with my boyfriend and I both rocking some sweet heels.

This makes me sad, like really really really sad.

This is exactly what went wrong with the feminist struggles of the past (I'm not saying feminists did evertthing wrong, just saying some 'advances' are not. Also that the 'fight' got stolen by capitalism/consumerism).

What I mean is: it's not a good thing when things that where bad for one gender is now accessible (and expected) by 'the other' gender too. My best examples are: overworking and being obsessed by your appearance. Both these phenomena where bad when they where part of one genders expected behaviour - they did not become good just because they are now for everyone not just 'men' or 'women'.
