That's what people fail to understand is how unbelievably restrained the U.S. armed forces are. If the U.S. wanted to flex its military muscle and go door to door confiscating small arms and literally lock down all of Iraq while killing any and all resistance it could have, they decided to win hearts and minds and look what that gets you.

Wake up call. We went there to Balkanize the region along political and sectarian lines by fomenting civil war and that is exactly what we've done. They launched the GWOT on packs of lies and on the backs of the murders of almost 3000 Americans on 9/11, invaded Iraq and the lies of WMD and conflating Hussein with 911 (by the end of 2003 58% of Americans believed he was involved in the 911/anthrax attacks. We then launched an illegal proxy war first in Libya and for 5 years now in Syria. That's the reality. We created ISIL, along with our regional allies. A million people have been killed. This is Syria a few days ago : We have created the largest humanitarian crisis since WWII, destroyed whole cities, caused incalculable suffering and destruction and pollution and waste and misery and death to all but those waging the wars. their kids dont die in wars.
