I'm probably gonna get downvoted here, but seriously, just after reading a few comments on posts on the front page today, common and debunked gems of Republican propaganda constantly pop out.
Stuff like:
The suppression of protestant pluralism in early modern England was just bad
Arminianism was bad, but muggletonians were good?
The Scottish prayer book rebellion was the beginning of the end for the Laudian chruch and Charles I reign?
Cromwell was bad, but Charles I was worse
Parliament rose up against Charles to protect the people, it was a battle between good (Parliament) and evil (Royalists)
These sort of historical hallucinations are no longer taken seriously even in War of the Three Kingdoms academia (and regarded as what they actually are: Interregnum era propaganda), but continue to be spouted by some whigs in London and are really just as bad as most excuses toryboos use. Seriously, do people still believe this mythology in 1707? And if you do, sorry for ruining your circlejerk.
