what are your thoughts about schweinsteiger supposedly not wanted by mou? (self.reddevils)

Hi Guys,

I am a Monaco fan that is really looking forward to the Man Utd season coming up. Don't really know why I am so excited this season (i bought a man utd shirt about 8 years ago so the team's always been one i liked but for some reason this year makes me excited).

Enough about me, I was wondering what do you think about Schweinsteiger not being desired by Mou? From what I heard he has not been very good with the Devils last year but he's still a top class player. Not made for EPL? Not at ease with the new scheme? Not compatible with the eventuality of Pogba?

I am just very curious

Off-topic, but I think it's a good opportunity to ask someone who watches Fabinho week in/week out, how good is he? What are his strengths and weaknesses? Do you think he is better than Darmian/Tony V?

Don't worry man, there are plenty of reasons why you are excited for this very season!

To answer your question - Basti wasn't particularly bad last season, even scored some really important goals but it seems Mou is trying to think more long term. Basti is on really high wages and while getting old he's also injury prone.

His qualities are now controlling the tempo of the game, good passing and experience on the pitch. Unfortunately for him we have Carrick for that.

Don't think Mou cares about the wages. Whether or not he's surplus to requirements will be due to his ability and other criteria you mentioned.

I don't think he's top class anymore tbh, was underwhelming last season even before the injuries kicked in.
