I was browsing /r/philosophy when I came across a post linking to this video, and after watching it I realized that Kazimierz Dabrowski's theory of Positive Disintegration pretty much sums up the journey of someone going from being a blue-pill male to a MGTOW if you think about it.

 

Level 1: People act based upon biological impulse and social value. Act according to media and school system that does not value individual expression. Actions are taken in order to advance self.

This mirrors the most blue-pill mangina cuck one could imagine. These are the people who get married because society, the media, and the government wants them to, and they think with their penis, letting their sex drive lead them to marriage. These are the people who get led to the slaughter, and willingly go to it since everyone else is doing it.

I'm also willing to classify the whole "Red Pill" and PUA community in this category since they fit in quite well, even if they have red pill knowledge of society and women, because while they understand that they are not cared for by society, they remain in the plantation and interact and put up with women because they are driven by the biological desire to have sex, no matter the risk it poses to them, nor are they willing to abandon the orgasm, which is a hollow and temporary reward that takes a lot of time and resources to access (i.e. going to PUA classes, building your self up physically, buying Roosh V's stupid shit, talking to women, etc.)

 

Level 2: Social Conventions begin to collapse under scrutiny, possibly beginning an existential crisis. Common behaviors or ethics are seen as either wrong, inadequate, or hypocritical.

This is the part where one experiences a "red pill moment" either minor (seeing a news story about some shit like a false rape accusation or a pussy pass scenario) or major (getting divorce raped by the family court system) event that gives them some light into the true nature of society, the government, and/or women.

MRAs and TRP make it this far (and reach the next stage temporarily), but fall back into stage 1 either due to social pressure (MRAs stress how they are egalitarian and walk on eggshells in a futile attempt to not seem sexist) or biological impluse (TRP just can't get enough of dat pussy). A MGTOW continues to question these social conventions and ventures deeper into the rabbit hole.

This is also why you can't force someone into seeing the world as MGTOW do, because you must see the event for yourself in a way that it challenges your perception and causes great enough internal discord.

 

Level 3: One compares and contrasts actual behavior of most people to a higher idealized choice. The individual will always choose this path as the obvious one to follow. If the individual's behavior fails to meet this higher idealized choice they feel internal disharmony and are driven to review and reconstruct their behavior to fit the ideal. At this point one cannot go back to seeing the world as it was before.

This one is pretty easy, this is the point where MGTOW and TRP begin to see female nature and society for what it is. This insight shatters the previous view forever, and cannot do what they did before (get married, be the nice guy for women, be a slave to society, etc.) without feeling internal disharmony.

TRP have their perception forever changed, but due to their biological impulse, they eventually go back to Level 1 because once again, they can't get enough of dat pussy.

A MGTOW stays and advances past this stage as they accept their disposability and modify their behavior to suit themselves instead of society and women in whatever form they need to. A great example of this is not getting married, not engaging with women if you don't need to, and possibly even abstaining from sex entirely (although, of course, not all MGTOW do this).

The Video talked about developmental potential, which is the entire reason TRP fall backward at this state, since they don't feel discontent enough with the way things are, and are fine trying to be chad, whether they are successful or not, and thusly don't have enough of a "drive" to be pushed onto other stages. A MGTOW, however, still feels the "red pill rage" as well as other feelings (possibly depression, or maybe a combination of rage and sadness, each case is different) and thusly has enough of a drive to continue changing and advancing onto later stages.

 

Level 4: A person takes full control of their development. Spontaneous impulses are replaced by a conscious view of life. Old views are replaced by carefully thought out ideals. Common social conventions seen as appropriate are kept, while other social norms are replaced by a perceived higher value. These individuals harbor a feeling of responsibility that extends to just about everything.

This is the point where a MGTOW continues to research topics relating to society, government, and women and adjusts each behavior and believe to shield themselves against each one.

 

Level 5: Referred to as being a "Visionary". Every action taken is in line with core values that are developed across levels 2 to 4 and the unique way that they see the world. This is where you become unrestrained by social convention. Create expression creates action, art, or social change. At level 5 little internal conflict is experienced, and the pressure comes from external sources, like society and the government. However they do not care what these external sources think, which generates pressure to conform to society. You will be exiled, assassinated, or burnt at the stake (today that would take the form of something like a false rape accusation).

This is the point in MGTOW where one has gained a substantial and almost full understanding of society, women, and the government, and have values that lead them to act for their own interest instead of others. A MGTOW will not feel bad for not being of service to any of those three outlets, and will push on their own way despite any resistance. A MGTOW at this point is proudly selfish and sees no problem in their action. Any MGTOW that passes this stage could potentially reach self-actualization.

 

As with any theory, it is highly likely that this one is not perfect, and has some holes in it. And how it relates to becoming a MGTOW probably wasn't described perfectly by me either, but I do think that the general outline of the process certainly fits MGTOW quite well.
