I don't wanna generalize, but lately I more and more often get the feeling that even on big gaming sites, people writing articles have no f***ing clue what they're talking about. And not only when it comes to consoles vs. PC.

It's been this way for quite a while. You notice it a lot more as you learn more about the subject.

Race to the bottom. Why pay 20$/h for someone who knows their shit if you can get away with 10$/h high school/college intern.

Yep. Clickbait also provides more page views and revenue than actual well thought out and researched content.

Console peasants will view it for vindication

PCMR will view it to argue against it

Author will get a lot of clicks, which translates to ad revenue and won't give a shit what people think about his article.

PCMR won't give any clicks because we are smart enough to link archive links

Which is just the subreddit and even then most here directly link the articles.

PCMR shouldn't give any clicks because we should be smart enough to link archive links, but we'll likely continue doing the same thing we always have and give them those tasty clicks.

FTFY

I would love if they pay me 5$/h to explain them how a PC works
