Opinions on Paul Pogba? (self.soccer)

I just wanted to ask r/soccer about their opinion on Paul Pogba. Where do you see him going? Do you see him staying at Juve? What do you think his maximum potential is?

I personally believe he will be a Balon D'or winner in the future as the kid is already as star with so much desire and raw talent. He really will be a superstar and I really really hope he stays on Juve.

I could see him staying at Juve, but under a few conditions (this is all just my opinion and conjecture). I think Juventus have to keep playing at a high level and challenging him. The first, will almost certainly happen, the second might not. Personally, I think Pogba might want more of a challenge. I think the Serie A has to improve in depth and quality. Not a slight to the mid-level clubs or the other challengers like Roma, Fiorentina, or Napoli, but Milan and Inter have to improve. Otherwise, I see Pogba getting bored winning the Serie A every year and may look elsewhere to a club that offers a similar roster and Champs League every year, but is in a deeper league with more exposure. (Best I got Man City supporters, here is to hoping OP is Pogba and listens to my notions.)

I dont think he wants to leave Juve. We turned him into a star and he is a fan favorite. He also really loves the club.

I reckon he could play for France a few more times, he's so raw talented it's unbelievable at times. I don't believe France could have a better player than Zidane. There's so many comparisons because Zidane was at Juve, so he'll go to Madrid, they might make a movie about him, one of those pretentious ones just like Zidane.

Will he stay at Juve long-term? Maybe. People forget that Juve are a big club, but ultimately it will depend on the state of entire squad if they keep him or sell him. They only sell him if they can a) get lots of $$$ and b) if they have a plan to allocate said $$$ to strengthen the squad in other areas, including finding a suitable replacement. For his own development, he's pretty much surrounded by as good a midfield as you can ask for in terms of experience, skill, off-ball movement, and defending. He will easily become a more complete player if he stays, I'd be pleased if he breaks all of Nedved's club records for foreign players to play for Juve, that's my best-case hope. If he becomes a ballon d'or contender, even better.

Cleverley was on loan with Wigan.. Pogba played in The Uefa cup against Bilbao with us and you're saying you made him into a star.

Before Juve, was he considered a star? Do star's play from the bench? Pogba went from a bench warmer at United to a starter/constant sub at Juve. It's day and night. Juve deserve the credit for allowing Pogba to play his way.

See this is why I hate people bringing up Paul Pogba.. Was he considered a future star? Yes, Along with Ravel Morrison.

You made a ludicrous comment saying he wasn't considered over cleverly and Scholes which is complete bullshit.

He had 3 appearances in the League cup, All dreadful performances. Against mediocre sides. 3 in the premiership and one in the Uefa cup.

He was annoyed that he didn't get a start over Rafael and Park in a match against blackburn. Now I don't know how juventus run there club but i'm pretty damn sure you wouldn't start a player that didn't deserve to start?

Like every other manager fergie wasn't going to play him if he didn't earn it, In which he clearly did not.

Now did I like Pogba ? Yes, Close control and a rocket of a right leg for a tall guy, Brilliant.

Did I like his attitude? Fuck no, He had his head up his arse. Demanding a starting place without earning it. No other player has that in there contract, so why should he.

This is where I disagree with you. At the time of the game, if I remember correctly, United had a deficit of midfielders as many of them were injured. Instead of playing Pogba, Ferguson did not.

Here is Pogba's quote on it:

"United were short of players like me, but it was the manager's decision. I couldn't do anything about it. I was frustrated because he spoke to me a few times and said I was nearly there.

"He obviously thought I didn't deserve the contract I asked for, and didn't put me in the team even though he had no midfield players. It was his choice."

So Pogba has every right to get pissed about not playing

Its not that there were a ton of midfielders ahead of him. There were no midfielders available to play that position during that game and Ferguson decided not to play Pogba. It doesnt matter if he played 7 games if you are in an injury crisis and there is an available mid then he should be given the chance to play.
