Looks like the Clinton campaign is turning out to be as big a flop as the movie.

May I... may I ask why we're centipedes again?

edit: thank you, fellow centipedes. MAGA

Despite the impressive length, we are nimble navigators. Much like the tarantula we are eating we are predators, with two long curved hollow fangs that inject paralyzing venom.

knife party song "centipede" was used in the OG "Can't Stump The Trump" vid.

Just think, some shitty studio spent $200 million to ruin a cult favorite in order to make a political statement in support of a candidate no one likes. I'm sure the shareholders are thrilled about it.

what are another 200 million to continue the agenda ? obama administration printed trillions trough the fed , wake up america.

That's Sony for you. Just like how they make phones nobody wants. Or TVs. Or anything. PlayStation is the only success, every other department is so out of touch I'm amazed they're still in business.

Sony 4K's are the shit though

You must be stuck in the last decade. Sony TV's are about on par in price with the other major brands now. The new 'premium' priced brand is Samsung. Source: Recently did an exhaustive search to find my next TV.

The Samsung TVs are great, we got a cheap plasma TV for like $200 I believe. Best deal ever.

I hope the world soon realizes that trying to turn women into men isn't only flat-out weird, but actually nullifying in the realm of human progress.

Turning women into men insists that women are inferior! It's stupid and diabolical!

Meanwhile Dan Akroyd and Bill Murray are still pushing this turd.

Did you see Bill Murray's face during the promos? He's only there to get paid.

Probably to avoid a "mysterious accident" as well

The Sony hack emails on Wikileaks show that he was being coerced into doing it somehow by Sony lawyers

Sony had to threaten him with a lawsuit to force him to promote the movie.

The whole idea was his in the first place. He mentioned in an interview 'wouldn't it be cool if the Ghostbusters were female?' and it grew from there

He was probably on the liquor when he said it.

The liquor makes me think Randy!

I actually watched this abomination of a movie. Let me tell you, I've never seen Bill Murray phone in a performance like he did in this movie. His cameo was extremely short, ending with the female ghost buster's incompetence literally being responsible for launching bill Murray out of the window and killing him, only to face no repercussions or consequences, even after telling the police a ghost did it.

[–]Bernie_wears_DependsCA 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

It's probably a joke to Bill Murray. I'm sure he laughs hysterically about it in private.

A rueful chuckle in the hot tub, I'm thinking.

It was pretty obvious from the get-go that this new Ghostbusters movie was literally just a feminist/SJW thing.

They really had a chance to prove everyone wrong by NOT infecting it with feminism (essentially ignore their gender like Ripley in Alien). Maybe get better looking actresses to do it and have no male bashing at all.

It probably would have at least broke even that way.

To be fair, I don't think Kristen Wiig is that bad.

>Better Looking actresses

>Implying you wouldn't bone Kate Mckinnon 6 ways to Sunday

She tried really hard to look unattractive in Ghostbusters, at least to me

The movie wasn't that bad. Sure, there were a few scenes where my friends and I looked at each other with a "reaaaallly?" face, but Chris Hemsworth stole the show. I laughed a lot more than I expected to. The four women weren't as pushy about the "woo we're women and ghostbusters!" aspect as I thought they'd be, and the chemistry between them was decent. The worst part of the movie is really the story, which is Paul Feig's fault...he's a self-hating feminist who thinks men can't be funny, so who's to blame but him? A Clinton endorsement is more than I can take, though...

Hopefully Clinton's political campaign bombs as hard as this did at the box office (it will)

The US Democrats want to regulate Internet media like China does... if they do that we are truly fucked.

This election is LITERALLY the decision between freedom and slavery. Plantation politics of the Democratic party must die once and for all in 2016.

[–]the_republic_1776 9ポイント10ポイント  (0子コメント)

The Democratic Party should have been abolished after the Civil War.

One of this year's biggest flops, you sure smashed the patriarchy alright!

I took one look at that cast and knew it would suck. Other than Bridesmaids, movies with a bunch of female comedians are garbage. Mainly because female comedians usually aren't funny in the first place, and thus they try wayyyy too hard to overcompensate.

And now you have 4 of them, all out try-harding the next, in a movie that seems to serve no other purpose but to ram diversity down Americans throats. Yeah, no wonder that movie tanked.

I think they just attached themselves to it now because it has proven itself to be a flop, and the clinton camp is the only one dumb enough to go see it.

Who knew we'd win every Ghostbuster fan's vote? Good job sodomizing a classic film for your agenda, Hollywood.

As soon as I saw that it was an all female ghostbusters crew, I knew it was destined to suck. The only reason someone would remake this movie with an all female GB crew is because they want to push an agenda and a narrative.

I sure can't wait for Indiana Jane, Lady of the Rings, The Godmother, and 12 Angry Women. (please don't, Hollywood, /s)

See, this is why everyone knew from the start that this movie was a pure push for feminism. And anyone that said it got called a misogynist and a sexist and a bigot. "Well I'm gonna wait to see it before I judge it! Merp!" Eat a dick Mr. Magnanimous. And now they're actually SAYING that's what the purpose was and they're STILL calling men out in the comments.

I think politics are so divided at this point that those who have chosen sides are only going to further reinforce their beliefs. We need to concentrate on the undecided - those offline - and getting people out to vote.

Ghostbusters (2016) - opened at #2 to a second week movie (Life of Pets) and fell from there.

The best part is the spent like 140 million on advertising. They are 140 million in the whole.

The director himself said they need 500 million box office minimum and they will struggle to see 350. This will bust hard that everyone at the top of Sony Pictures will want to be fired.

Edit, just checked and I overestimated this movies chances, they will struggle break 200 million. Only at 128 going into its third weekend. Massive massive bomb.

Well advertising budgets aren't usually revealed publicly, but you can be sure that at least half of the production budget was spent on marketing, so at least $75 to $80 million. That means this was a massive bomb for Sony, and it's going to put them at least $100 million in the hole if not more.

Reminds me of all the movies from about 2009-2014 where superheroes/sherlock holmes/spies etc play loose and hard with the pesky rules and bureaucracy to take down the terrorists (or whoever conveniently happens to be blowing stuff up in the film. Even fucking Star Trek had a terrorist theme.

I saw an ad for this steaming pile on TV that literally said "Girls rule, women are funny, GET OVER IT!"

Nope, no agenda here...

It includes boxofficemojo.com as well.
7/26/16 weekend results http://web.archive.org/web/20160726083647/http://www.boxofficemojo.com/
7/26/16 switched to daily http://web.archive.org/web/20160726202418/http://www.boxofficemojo.com/

Looks like they're trying to prop it up by doing daily #s. Sony or whoever is likely buying just enough tickets to keep it in the top 5.

Why would they want to "get rid of the glass ceiling" though? I thought they liked bitching about it.

Budget: $144 Million Box Office: $128 Million

How is this literally not a complete failure? The budget doesn't take in to account for the Advertising budget either right?

I does not

The director was quoted as saying the movie would need to make $500 million to be a success but I think he was just boasting.

Safe estimates put the marketing budget around $100 million (could be as high as $150 million) so unless Ghostbusters makes $250 million (this assumes only production + marketing budget I'm not factoring in how much they waste on merchandising that doesn't sell) it is a financial flop.

Considering it started at #2 first week and dropped to #5 second week this movie is a colossal failure.

This shit has been going on for over a year. I remember hearing the news run with the narrative that women will now have to sign up for the draft. Then came all the trans shit forced onto us, like they're trying their damnedest to have us question our gender. All these movies of women being the billy bad asses that have come out, it's like they're trying to prove women are just as capable as men. Even stating that the genders are different is sexist to these people now. This is why I have been losing my fucking mind these past two years, it's gotta stop eventually. I blame men for allowing this to happen, we have to bring this shit back around and bring the women back to reality kicking and screaming.

Does anyone know the budget for this movie? I see the production budget is $144mil, but with all the PR must be around $250mil? I'd really like this movie to end up a massive terd.

It's sad to see Kristen wiig associated with this propaganda. It was actually a funny film that didn't have the "girl power" vibe to it, though it portrayed men in the film as either hunky idiots or loser neck beards.

Still was funny.
