I mean... you ban and censor dissenters (even some of your own accidentally). Isn't it kind of hypocritical to complain? Edit: I should mention that I believe any censorship is bullshit, but I felt that I should post this.

Eh, all the other subs moderate the way they see fit and it doesn't affect their placement on r/all. Reddit goes out of their way to censor The_Donald.

The AMA tonight generated mass amounts of reddit gold and ad revenue for them. The post had more upvotes than I have ever seen(though brigaders have brought the number down since). Isn't our money green too? Why the slap in the face?

The funny thing is that while they think this hurts Trump it actually helps him. Media corruption is glaringly obvious and people are fed up.

I am not a fan of Donald Trump and I'm only here due to r/all. But I'll say that after being on reddit for a decade their capricious censorship has gone too far. I may not like what y'all are about but singling you out to silence is the signal to know that reddit is done.

It isn't just Reddit that singles us out. It's a whole bunch of the media. Anything not openly rightwinged (Fox, Breitbart) singles us out. I also just received hatemail because of my open support of Trump.

You're welcome to stay but if you have any questions please go to /r/asktrumpsupporters as this sub is one big meme party. You may find you actually do like what we stand for.

I can see changing the algorithm so the sub pops up less. Even I got sick of seeing the Donald on the front page sometimes but yea this site has been going down hill fast

That's true, they seem to have changed algorithms because of this sub. I realize my question was certainly extreme, but I still see it as somewhat hypocritical.

I agree with everything you're saying here, too. It's pretty lame that the AMA wasn't at the top of All. I was curious and wanted to see it, but I had to click through one of the stickies to find it which is idiotic. Whether you agree or disagree with Mr. Trump, his AMA is incredibly important for voters in America.

American mainstream media is garbage. I wish there was a network that gave you nothing but the facts and left it up to the watcher to make up their own minds.

It hit #1 on all on my reddit. That is how I found it. But it quickly fell off but I think that has less to do with another tweek to the algorithm and more to do with the fact that it got tons of downvotes. You could have more upvotes than any other post in history but if you get more downvotes as well that doesn't insure you will get to number 1 and if you do probably not for very long. Once it hit number 1 the rest of reddit could downvote. Obviously the majority of reddit does not like the_donald so it would make sense that it didn't last very long on the front page.

Now all of these other posts from this subreddit that make it to the front page don't get as many downvotes as donald himself which also makes sense. So honestly I don't think there is any evidence to support 'tweeking' done by reddit today even if there was in the past.

I was speaking vaguely about the recent algorithm change in a post by spez (he mentioned the_donald specifically) recently. I didn't mean to imply that Reddit purposefully tanked the AMA, only that it was lame that I couldn't see it readily. Sorry that I wasn't clear.

Thanks for the explanation about the total upvotes versus downvotes. I didn't know that, but it makes sense.

Sort /r/all to 'controversial' and you will find every single post to /r/The_Donald. The oppositions organized down-voting squads ensures it.

No because it was clearly in our rules. This is a fact that is constantly stickied and is on the side bar. We do not claim to be a neutral place, and Reddit as a website and thus /r/all does.

I understand that it's in your rules and that as a subreddit you may do whatever you wish, and I understand why you do. I mean censorship in the broadest sense (You aren't a government etc.).

Just to be clear - the fact that I had to click through several links just to find his AMA was idiotic. It's important for all voters to be able to see it. I was excited to see it when I got home, but it was nowhere near the top. Thank you for not banning me for asking my question, by the way.

With Reddit they do not claim that and they claim to be "politically neutral". When they make it less visible, it is a form of censorship that is not known to other users. This gives an artificial sense that the AMA was not as popular as it was and doesn't give attention to Trump. A neutral place is not supposed to have biased moderation.

Yeah, you're right. I can't really argue with that at all, unfortunately (Edit: That Reddit isn't politically neutral). I do think, however, that this will blow up in their faces. Whether spez' explanation was true or not, it will be irrelevant.

I mean... That's still censorship... Like by definition you're banning people who hold a certain viewpoint so that they can't voice that viewpoint. That's censorship. If you're going to do that then that's fine, that's part of reddit, but then complaining about censorship does seem a little off. Just my two cents though.

First of all, it's the first fucking amendment to the constitution, not some random ass law congress passed. Also. I don't believe it To be slander if it's true.
