what? why the fuck is /r/twoxchromosomes a default?

Admins thought it'd be a good way to add a stronger female voice to the default new Reddit experience to counteract the general Redditor stereotype, and 2XC mods thought it'd be a good way to reach out and be available to new women joining the site. Which makes sense, in an ideal world everyone who doesn't like a default will just unsub from it.

It hasn't worked out the best: I'd argue that all the issues in this post are still a problem on the sub. A lot of the fun moved to trollx and the troll problem's still worse than before, but it's still a solid sub.

DiggWasWayBetter's reply should be an indication of why it's still a default. There are some people who think that not including or "representing" them –even in a way that is forced or convoluted– is discrimination.

Nobody thinks it's "discrimination" not to include a stronger female voice on the Reddit default. Some people just think that would be a nice thing to do.

Probably that's what the Admins had in mind when they asked the mods to let it become a default. But there are a lot of people who think that not being included equals being discriminated.

so ... assumptions? Apparently being included in something offends people who complain about other people being offended too much

It does. The ghostbusters drama was spawned because of these guys.
