Activision almost ALMOST did something very cool by re-releasing this game and bringing us the sequel to the PC for the first time.

It's impressive how badly they fucked it up really.

Man i really loved this game on xbox. Playing Deadpool was so much fun.

I had no idea who Luke Cage was, or that he was even a character, until I played the Ultimate Alliance series.

Now he's got his own TV show.

I never knew who Iron Man or Deadpool were until X-Men Legends 2, and about half the characters in UA were new to me too. This was before Iron Man the movie came out, when he was still an obscure character to non-comic readers (I think he was at least, I was pretty young at the time). Now the same is happening with Cage, Dr. Strange, and a bunch of other characters. These games introduced me to a lot of cool heroes ahead of time.

Ironman also had his own cartoon around the same time as the Xmen cartoon but yeah outside of Spiderman, Fantastic 4 and the Xmen the remainder of the cast where almost unknown to me

Another fun fact... Nicolas Cage was born Nicolas Coppola. In order to not ride the coattails of his famous uncle, he changed his last name to Cage, apparently after Luke Cage.

Nicoalas Cage is supposed to be a big Marvel fan. Hell, the reason he's in the damn Ghost Rider films is because he fought to get the part due to him being a big GR fanboy.

Deadpool was a game breaker, if I recall, if you pumped up his status buff and his gun attack. His guns hit fast for low damage, and his status buff was either the only buff or one of the few in the game that gave a flat damage bonus as opposed to a percentage. Combine the two and you mow through hordes of dudes and bosses alike in no time.

Plus his teleport and his regeneration was broken as well. He definitely could solo entire fights by himself.

If I recall correctly, Deadpool was also pretty strong in MUA2 thanks to his passive skill that gave him a ridiculous amount of attribute points.

I remember running Human Torch using mostly Inferno since it would pop up damn near anything once upgraded. Mister Fantastic with Elastic Crush upgraded would one shot most things. Hulk with Hulk Smash for stupid AOE. And finally Deadpool with the upgraded guns. YOu could just sit stationary with him and mow down everything like a turret. Was super easy for everything. I remember farming the, i think, Bifrost bridge mission for coins.

I remember mashing the buttons with Wolverine's berserk thingy. It was nuts and could down a boss in one or two combos. Thor was also ridiculous since his thunder would hit and stunlock everything.

But it was a game about punching mooks so it's ok to be a little OP.

Well, the original Dracula is public domain. Marvel's Dracula, as well as Castlevania's and any other in pop culture, is based on that. It's not like Marvel has rights to the Dracula like they do for the Blade.

The premise of this video is flawed because he claims it is a "remaster" yet Activision have always said it was a re-release.

However, even in the lens of a re-release, the bugs and price point can't really be excused, and the lack of DLC is really disappointing.

I'm not sure if Activision ever used the term "remaster" when talking about this game, but I know that they've claimed that the Steam version would include graphical enhancements and a redesigned UI and that it would be considered the "definitive version" (which it certainly isn't considering all the missing content and clunky controls.)

My reason for highlighting this is I think it'd be a perfectly good release if it actually worked, had the missing DLC, and was more reasonably priced.

They are 3 major flaws that are fixable if Activision decides it. If the bug issues get fixed, DLC is added, and the price point lowered then the games will be well worth it. Expecting a fully fledged remaster with up to date graphics though is unrealistic for a re-release.

He has a point though. A lot of games would be perfectly good releases if they actually worked, weren't missing or had more content (missing dlc in this case), and where more reasonably priced (cheaper). These are real huge flaws that shouldn't just be written off as fine because it's fixable. Also I highly doubt these issues will all be fixed which is unfortunate because I really loved this game when I was younger.

It's not "PR bots"; they've been perfectly honest as to what they were releasing.

It's not as if Activision flat out lied and said it was a full remaster.

It's all well and good to be disappointed with the performance and content of what was actually offered but complaining about stuff that wasn't even promised is pretty unreasonable.

Only the first one was released on PC. This is the first time we're seeing the sequel on PC.

Controllers DO NOT work correctly on PC for this game, the button bindings are messed up. For example, it thinks the X button is the A button and The back button functions as LB. I cant believe how bad this is and not to mention the delay on Xbox one with no official word from Activision.

No, it doesn't take so long nor is it needed. The lengths of his videos aren't indicative of a necessity, they're indicative of his audience's expectations and wishes.

People like listening to him rant and talk for a while. It's fine if you don't. But this whole "does it really take so long in order to X" is a straw man argument and really needs to die off. The answer will always be 'no' and the caveat will always be that no one claimed that it does take so long.

It's not a straw man argument. A straw man argument would be if he claimed that because it takes TB 14 minutes to rant about it being a poor port, it must not actually be a poor port.

A straw man argument is an argument that an unrelated issue disproves the issue you are arguing.

TB has been in the scene for at least 10 years and in no way in hell does he need/require promotion. He didn't post this video, nor does he have a Reddit account (he had ones in the past but one was banned, others he requested that they be deleted).
