lol, a default, three political subs, and then poor little /r/ScreamsFromThe90s

I thought it was weird that a default sub would be on here so I logged out and checked if it still was. Apparently, /r/wtf is no longer a default subreddit. I wonder when that happened.

I mean it makes sense in terms of reddit's direction over time, as there was a big shift in the nature of defaults. They were casualized in such a sense, shifting from things like /r/atheism and /r/wtf to things like /r/food and /r/TwoXChromosomes. As for the when, quite a while ago, like 2013 I think. Pretty sure it was done voluntarily.

If I'd seen /r/WTF when I first got here I probably would have been very turned off, that place is like the wild west.

I never got why /r/atheism was default, considering it'd be highly alienating to many people. Even as an atheist, it's full of mass circlejerking. It's not so important that I have to insult religious people and their mindset every waking hour.

I guess it's the zeal of the convert.

Surely there will be no drama whatsoever.

Whats with defaults trending? Seems like a lazy pick.

WTF isn't default anymore, IIRC.

Hasn't been default since Dec 2013.

its automatic lol

No it isn't. A script generates a list of all subs eligible to trend and then an admin curates said list. This has been apparent since at least a year-and-a-half ago when they reran the trending system twice in the same morning, knocking /r/circlejerk out of the trending list.

circlejerk was on the list the next day, wasn't it?

Look at this set and tell me it wasn't deliberate

ETS and ESS in the same day for maximum triggering, I love it.

E_S_S is really bringing out the triggered berners tonight. The amount of concern trolling has been unreal.

It's a sad day worldwide for fans of Bernie "Dinner Time" Sanders.

Well they're essentially the same community.

I think you're confused about who would be upset. It's not the communities of ETS/ESS, it's the easily triggered Bern- and Trumpailures.

Nope, not at all actually.

Odd time for ETS to be trending but good nonetheless. ESS got hacked but it should still be up and running in its new state.

[–]Vexxxy 2

Oh boi, this gonna be good

DAE know how are the trending subreddits picked? Just curious as Donald Trump is about to come to Reddit for an AMA and an anti-Trump subreddit /r/EnoughTrumpSpam is trending on front page.

Edit: Found the answer:

What are the chances that an admin would intentionally pick a anti-Trump sub when Trump's AMA is scheduled on Reddit today it's not like they have changed any algorithm because of that particular sub.

What an odd coincidence, and nothing more ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

ESS used to be pretty damn good, then it was just flooded with pro-hillary shitposts so I unsubbed. I have no idea what transpired to make it the way it is right now o_0

Every Enough_Spam subreddit is a CTR hub.

Stop generalizing. Not all of us are CTR employees. I for one work for Goldman Sachs.

I only take my $hillbucks straight from the hand of $HILLARY CLINTON herself.

Even /r/EnoughLibertarianSpam? It must have been founded by David Brock himself.

Bold faced lie. First Enough_ reddit started back when Reddit was all over Ron Paul.

/r/EnoughTrumpSpam has no connection to CTR. Try again.

Being a tad touchy there,
I wonder why...

...and what is this proving exactly? Besides the fact that this fine gentleman appears to be a shitposting aficionado after my own heart.

And... your point is...?

imagine being dumb enough to think someone would have to be paid money to want to mock all of the ridiculous shit BernieBros say and do.
