There are reports of people who have been able to withdraw both ETC and ETH from their balances early on. It is likely Coinbase has been drained of ETC and is now insolvent. If true, they may need to acquire ETC on the open market to make depositors whole.

umm it doesnt matter if they bother, they took the deposits - they are now responsible for handling them - they will get hit with enough lawsuits to bankrupt them if they dont fix it and if they go out of business all the better

If they gave withdrawn the ETC, Coinbase doesn't have to honoured any balance at all! I don't see why they would have to replace it.

An exchange that hasn't split their deposits will naturally send ether on both networks assuming their account has a balance in each. Assuming depositors only send them ETHF their account will eventually run out of ETC.

Presumably via replay attacks. However, as far as I can tell, there's no evidence as yet that this has happened.

I'm hearing rumors that ETH transactions on Coinbase are taking hours.... Let's say Coinbase was drained of ETC.

Is it possible to use replay attacks to take out the ETH as well out of Coinbase?
