Silly season has returned for the 4th summer on /r/reddevils!

Most of you know the drill.

For those who don't...From today until the window closes, a transfer round-up & discussion thread will be made every day. In these threads, ANYTHING can be talked about. Any player, in or out, any transfer fee, anything!

Now, with these threads starting, this means that rumours submitted as separate posts will be removed unless they are from reliable sources!

I think the general idea, after Pogba that is, is that we're done in the market now.

The only signings coming in will be to replace players who decide they want to leave. And as everyone has returned to England, I bet Mou will be telling players they won't be involved, so we'll see some moves soon, and maybe replacements.

He had a strong start under Moyes and wasn't given the opportunity under LVG to get game-time and it appeared that the Martial transfer was the last straw for him. His BVB loan was underwhelming and he didn't get as much time as we had hoped, nor did he get the development we had hoped. The kid clearly has bucketloads of talent and I hope that he gets a good backup role and gets plenty of time in the Europa League and the other cups.

The Moyes season was over two years ago. He has been poor for over two years, seriously. I don't understand why you're holding on to so much hope for Januzaj when we have had so many other young players breakthrough in the past season. Rashford, Martial, TFM, CBJ, even Lingard has shown theres a place for him. Now that we are buying proper players theres going to be even less of a chance for him to earn a spot on the team.

Depends. As the squad is right now:

LM - Martial, Memphis.
CAM - Rooney, Mata.
RM - Mkhitaryan, Lingard

Unless someone leaves, I don't see a place for Januzaj to get that many games. If he gets the option to go on loan to Sunderland, he should take it tbh.

so it seems a few papers in Italy(most notably Gazzetta dello Sport) are saying the deal is done,while Sky(the more reliable one usually) says it's not yet done etc...

We're heard about Mou targeting four 'core' signings (of which Paul is the fourth), but there's also been hints we may make supplementary signings. We've heard rumours of Hirving Lozano, and Gabriel Barbosa (probably not gonna happen now). What other signings do we think could be realistic? A CB? Cover anywhere else?

I'm not surprised at all the way this is playing out and am still confident we will land PP. Its a large sum of money thus a large range in which for Juve to haggle with us. If you can pay 110-120 who is to say you can't squeeze another 5? We are also in a position that $ is our only currency, there's no other strong forces ie Pogba is a brat, he is begging to leave etc. The other factor is Juve doing what Tottenham did with Bale, buying up before they sold him to give the illusion they are not sitting on a windfall.
