Your HONEST thoughts about the upcoming season? (self.reddevils)

We might all be in the honeymoon stage with Mourinho as new boss (finally. Should've been SAF's successor) and the signings of Bailley, Ibra and Mhki that followed. But what are your honest and realistic opinions on what will happen for United this coming season?

I don't think Ibra will score 30+ goals like a lot of fans hope. Maybe around the 20 mark. Bailly will do alright, and hopefully force Phil Jones out the starting XI and form a partnership with Smalling. Micky I hope has a wondrous season as the world-class winger that we've needed since Cristiano left us. He won't reach the heights of CR7, but he solve the problem somehow.

As for the supposed signing of Pogba... would be nice, but it's becoming increasingly unlikely in my head. If he signs, I'd like Mourinho the possibly reign in his ego a bit, and see him bring a bit of flare and playmaking ability that we know he has to our midfield that we so desperately need.

The Pogba shitshow is honestly stunting any thoughts I can have towards the upcoming season. When I think of United right now, the first thought is "Can we fucking settle the Pogba signing already"

Either we sign him or we don't. I just want the decision to have been made as soon as possible. I really don't want another Vidal saga.

I HONESTLY think that the season should begin soon so that we don't have to read 'thoughts for the upcoming season' threads every couple of days...

Aside from transfers/Pogba, I really have to say that I'm a bit worried how the season's going to unfold. I know Mou is an excellent manager, in fact, one of the best ones after Fergie, but Mou was in the relegation zone last year, with that many talented players - and of course bad ones/under performing ones. Yes, there may be reasons and factors, but it's really hard for a team to go down that badly for so long. I don't know. I want us to win the title, but there are so many good managers and teams in the league right now. We don't even have the best squad to be honest.

We should at a minimum be in the title conversation until the end of the year, and normally I'd say we'll take a season to gel but so do most other teams bar Arsenal and Spurs, so winning it isn't out of the question.

I hope the kids get a lot of time in the Europa League group stages (TFM, Memphis, Pereira, even Tuanzebe), but I hope we take it seriously in the knockouts and make a run at winning it. Being in the Super Cup next year would be cool.

I don't expect anyone to put up a ton of goals, but I do expect Ibra, Rooney, Martial, Rashford, Mkhi, and maybe Mata and Memphis to hit 10-15 each in all competitions.

Defensively, a lot depends on Shaw coming back healthy. He's such a force and allows us to play aggressively given his athleticism getting back.

I have cautious hope that if Jones stays healthy he and Smalling will still be a decent partnership, but Bailly looks to have all the potential. Hope Tuanzebe gets a handful of games this year in the Cups and Europa.

Honestly? I think we're going to win the league and a cup tournament. We have a strong squad with good depth, it will all depend on how well the team blends together.

Probably a bit pessimistic after the three previous seasons. I think we will reach top 4, however I think it will be a struggle. City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, even Liverpool and Leicester will be though competition.

I don't think "our" Zlatan will be anywhere near comparable to the last season PSG Zlatan. I think he will bag +/- 15 goals. And I still worry how we will be able to adapt to Mou's tactics after two years of "philosophy". In general I think our squad is too weak and unreliable to think about being champions come the end of the season.

What I most of all want to see over the next season though is progress in the right direction. Reliability against weaker teams, or at home. And hopefully less 40 yard passes back to your own keeper.
