I have Autism and no, that joke was not in good taste.

EDIT: Just wanted to point out that just a few months ago on this very subreddit I encountered one of the most genuinely heartwarming responses by this community, towards a person who attempted to make fun of those with Autism and make jokes like an asshat. And people shat over that guy, they downvoted him to hell. And I actually made some friends through that situation, some of the best friends I've ever had.

But fuck. Just the pure fact that I am getting downvoted for defending myself and my disability against people who don't know anything about Autism as a spectrum, actually irritates me and shows me just how many toxic individuals have joined the subreddit in the past few months. I don't care though. I stand by my opinion because I respect myself enough to stand up for Autism in general when there are those think they can make jokes at others expense and contribute towards the growing issue of ignorance and apathy towards those with Disabilities. And my main portion of this comment was actually meant to be a light hearted joke aimed at the fact that I was taking offense at being said that someone like myself would be playing Genji. Not the fact that he used Autism as the butt of the joke. But other people had to make this an issue. Other people had to push and whine. So no, I'm not backing down. Downvote me all you want.

EDIT 2: Bad publicity is good publicity. Not even gonna respond directly to the comments attempting to insult me further because I am better than that.

Well done. You attempted to insist that I'm just a mad SJW. But I'm not. I'm human, I have Autism. It is entirely my right to request to act like a normal person instead of a sad little internet browsing creature who's main goal is to irritate.

People who make fun of those with Autism NEVER understand that Autism is a spectrum. Stereotypes are almost always false. And people like you are just pathetic and petty. You rely on making fun of others to feel like you're superior. You don't deserve recognition, but you force your way in to peoples lives by spreading misery and celebrating the fact you give them grief. You are by far one of the most childish types of people on planet earth.

Am I mad? No, because I encounter enough of you types of people to know to not get too bothered by you, and I never pass up the chance to educate. But the fact that you make it your goal to annoy says a whole lot about what a sad life you must lead.

Projecting hate. Well don't insult those with Autism, myself included because I do have Autism. And your ignorance only spreads apathy.

Is it actually so much to ask for you to be a decent human being? And am I so wrong for expecting civility and mutual respect? Or are my expectations far too high for people to be capable of following example.

Well actually, my original point was that I was jokingly taking offense towards being called Genji main. Not the fact that the original comment was a joke with Autism at the butt end of it.

But you asked if I was mad. You made an issue where there was none so I retaliated.

Don't say things which would imply that you're just trolling, and act like a troll. You're saying this to pretend you weren't insisting something else, but we both know that's a lie.

Honestly I would. My life is shit. And having a disorder which people only make fun of and decide who I am and what my personality is like based off one interpretation, one idea based on very little knowledge of what autism is. Can you understand how it gets frustrating? I see it so often and when someone says just about one thing to me. I have to assume the worst. Because I'm so used to it that it's just become my default reaction.

I'm honestly sorry I acted the way I did towards you but I've just received so much shit for having Autism and even existing in life that it becomes physically and mentally exhausting over long periods of time reading the same old shit..If that at all makes sense.
