All in the positives (though thankfully not highly upvoted):

This is what amazes me about all the male privilege talk. White women are the most privileged class in America by far and how they get treated because of their looks is only the tip of the iceberg.

Only the good looking white women. Try being a fat and ugly white woman. You get paid less AND nobody buys your drinks.

Wage gap is a myth. Please let it die.

Not even just good looking women. Go on Internet dating and even an average looking women will get an avalanche of thirsty guys showering her with compliments and date requests. This constant validation and feeding of ego has consequences like that 'attractiveness bubble' that the guy ^ up there was talking about.

Meanwhile...

A woman may have much to gain from her beauty, but she never gains respect, especially from the men like you who say stupid shit like this. [-7]

you're soooooo close i mean probably not but you're sooooo close to just saying it by accident.

Men objectify women so much so that women may start to believe that their chief value is to be found in being objectified by men

The nerve of that woman not wanting to be harassed by creeps.......honestly, what is this world coming to when men cant touch women they've never met before at their leisure?

I bet they complain about refugees groping "their" women

[–]Second_Harvest[S] 94ポイント95ポイント  (2子コメント)

Not ONE person in the thread was willing to even consider for a second that maybe someone had actually just sexually harassed her. I mean the video was like a minute long, no one could possibly know what actually just happened. But the immediate assumption is she's just doing it for attention or something. The whole thread is awful, filled with slurs and whatnot

This is what happens to most bigoted/sexist/racist redditors who've spent most of their lives reliant on privilege as their major asset.

[–]ghoststory 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

it's actually scary how easily this kind of language is co-opted

[–]lilsavito 28ポイント29ポイント  (6子コメント)

Thanks Dr. Frued. Next, can you explain why redditors like to overanaylize things and write paragraphs with little logic on something that has little context?

Can we use Secretary of the Status Quo unironically yet? Because I'd like to appoint those people

Video of woman complaining about being touched: "This happens to most beautiful/attractive/gorgeous women who have leaned heavily or primarily on their looks as their major asset in life... [The] preferential treatment that comes with being attractive just slowly starts to fade away." [+204]

In reply to iamambience on "Woman feels persecuted because she's attractive":

Thing is, she probably was "an attractive woman" at some point in her life. Which is why she has this attitude, and feels entitled to it.

It just hasn't dawned on her yet, that the preferential treatment she can get for being goodlooking has expired some years back. In her mind, the only change over the last decade is that everyone has for no reason just gotten more rude towards her.

This is 100% spot on.

This happens to most beautiful/attractive/gorgeous women who have leaned heavily or primarily on their looks as their major asset in life. (It happens less if a woman derives her self-worth from other areas, like motherhood or a job/career).

All of attention and preferential treatment that comes with being attractive just slowly starts to fade away. It'd be like if you were a major movie star, and your popularity fades over the years until no one cares who you are anymore. You used to walk in to a room and everyone ogled you, but now no one looks anymore. You used to be able to walk to the front of the large line and ask a question while other people waited, but now you get told to go wait with everyone else.

A lot of women just flat-out cannot handle this and live with this cognitive dissonance where they dress/act/talk like they're still young, unable to accept that their beauty has faded.

Every single one of us (except for Patrick Stewart, Julie Andrews, and Keanu Reeves) has to come to terms with losing our youthful good looks as our bodies inevitably age, decay, and breakdown in to a wrinkley saggy mess. People who have built the foundation of their identity and self-worth on their good looks have a major identity crisis later in life when they start to inevitably lose the most important part of themselves.

I've always viewed this as the double-edged sword of attractiveness.

I'm going to spitball here and say that the people in that thread weren't very attractive in high school and hold a lot of resentment towards attractive women because they were more popular then they were, leading them to believe attractive white women are incredibly privileged. However, what these guys don't understand is that their nasty, unreflective personalities are far more of a social deterrent than their looks could ever be, making them believe everything would be hunky-dory if only they were a hot woman.

Uh I can't figure out what's going on in this video. Is it just me or does it seem like the woman is just mentally ill and having some sort of outburst?

She doesn't seem to be talking to anyone in particular or following any train of thought and is weirdly flipping that card back and forth in front of her... Is there some part I'm missing that makes her behavior make sense?
