Yeah. It's not a pretty truth, but it's the truth. At least they had law and order back then. Rhodesia was the same way.

Rhodesia wasn't as bad as apartheid South Africa. The country's entire short history was full of attempts to reach an agreement everybody could live with. It culminated in the 1978 constitutional agreement and election of Bishop Abel Muzorewa as P.M. Washington, D.C. Westminster and the Useless Nuisance unfortunately hung them out to dry and insisted upon Mugabe.

Another fun anecdote: Current South African president Jacob Zuma admitted to having unprotected sex with an HIV positive girl, but said he took a shower afterwards to cut the risk of contracting HIV himself.

I have no idea why a single white person still lives there. I've read accounts of what their day to day life is like here on Reddit and it defies imagination. They have to run red lights because they'll get carjacked if they stop. They need walls around their properties. Home invasions are common. There's growing Afro-Marxist hatred for them. Meanwhile the physical infrastructure of the country is crumbling. They all need to get out of there before they get ethnically cleansed.

In various "main" subs like AskReddit or TIL over the years. It's always tangential to the main subject of the thread, but it's a common theme. If it's burred in a larger discussion and only a few people are seeing it, it's less likely to be removed by a mod.

Democracy is shit because Tyranny of the majority. Democratic republic in which everyone has a representative for equal say isn't perfect, but usually better than alternatives.

Well, the truth that no one wants to admit is that democracy works for Western Civilization, the cultural descendants of the Greeks and Romans who originated it in the first place. Imposing it on savages who don't want it is what never works.

Many blacks in SA would agree with you. Their entire utility infrastructure is falling apart due to neglect and mismanagement. Rolling electrical blackouts are common, roads are falling apart, sewage treatment and domestic water aren't reliable. The place is reverting to pre-colonial savagery.
