It means grown in a lab. They are still the exact same minerals found "in the wild", just lab-grown. Or did you think synthetic means "glass"? Because the term he would use then is "fake". Personally I can't eyeball a solitary cell phone picture of cut gemstones and tell if something is synthetic or wild, as the differences are so imperceptible that you need instruments to tell the difference.

But clearly not you: who knows nothing about gemstones yet thinks they are an authority on cell phone pictures.
