That most of Russia is actually part of Asia, not Europe. Seriously... What the actual fuck?

This is fairly obvious

Yeah but only if you look it up.

I mean u literally need to know that Europe ends at Urals and that Russia goes to the Pacific

Doesn't seem too obvious that a country can belong in two different continents. At least not if you live in the area

Well... Turkey is in both Europe and Asia, too.

Also, a part of Denmark is not in Europe, but on the North American continent.

Not to mention America. Part of the United States isn't on the North American continent at all...

And they are usually not considered to be a part of Europe socially either.

There aren't actually any official continents, so that's up to debate.

What the actual fuck?

I'm very bored, so.... Let's take a few moments to appreciate how insanely stupidly huge Russia is.

38% of the commonly accepted geographical Europe is part of Russia. However, only 23% of Russia is in Europe. The Russian Federation in its entirety is almost three times as big as every other European country combined. Asian Russia alone is almost twice as big as every other European country combined, comprising 25% of Asia. That said, 77% of the population of Russia lives in the European areas.

Needless to say, it is also the largest country in the world, being 1.7 times as large as Canada. It is also slightly smaller than every South American country combined.

Everyone knows Russia is big, but sometimes you just have a moment where you see a map and have a "holy shit Russia is fucking huge" moment.

Of course, as someone else said, this all depends on how you define the continents. You could consider America and Afro-Eurasia to be two huge ass continents and be able to make a serious argument for it were you so inclined, in which case Russia stays huge but not "a few -stans away from being larger than several entire continents" huge.

In Russia we say we are located in Eurasia.
