Is this our best transfer window ever?

Ibrahimovic (a striker who has scored 50 goals in previous season, also a goal a game strike rate for a poor Sweden...If you mention his poor Euros then many players had a poor one like Harry Kane (complete donkey), Lewandowski (before he went to knockout stage etc.) - Its stupid to judge on internationals because players dont get to play with eachother often so there is no team chemistry. It's why there's so many shit international matches, no chemistry

Mkhitaryan (Bundesliga players player of the year, a creative force we have lacked for years)

Pogba (one of the best players of Serie A, a truly complete all round midfielder, only turned 23 so potential is unbelievable)

Bailly (Not too sure about him but apparently fantastic for Vilareal and won Motm vs Liverpool)

Retained De Gea (I thought he was gone for sure...Mourinho was smart to bring in his mentor Alvarez into the coaching team)

Only season I can remember which compares is the one where VDS, Vidic, Park and Evra signed. Or the one where we signed Fellaini and Mata for only £70+m!

PS - We still will probably sign more players like Fabinho, Gab Jesus etc so who knows how good this window could be

In 05/06 we got Evra, Vidic, Van Der Saar and Park. I would say for the moment that trumps this window easily as they all turned out to be core players.

Yeah they were, I suppose if the question was what was our best season for transfers then I would say 05/06. Still Evra and Vidic in one go was a catch.

Yeah that was the season I included in my post

I remember thinking WTF is Fergie doing signing that shit fulham goalkeeper. He was under immense pressure during these days as we failed to qualify in CL the previous season and he was benching RVN for Saha...so to pull out that transfer window is fantastic

Defintely one of our best ever

Best window before this one has to be summer 2007. Tevez, Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson. Won the CL that season too. Before that, summer 1998: Yorke, Stam, Jasper Blonqvist(sp). Won the CL too that season. Guess you can put your money on a League and EL double! Before that? Summer 2004: Roooooooney!! Before that? Summer 2012: Van Persiiiiiiiiiieee!

VDS and Park didn't sign in the same window as Evra and Vidic.

That first game against City though. Looked like a fucking disaster from Fergie! Evra got taken off at half time 2-0 down! Vidic didn't play though.

I think we should wait at least a season before comparing these transfers to past ones. Whilst rival cub fans are annoying, of course our signings could flop. When we signed Di Maria and Falcao we could have been saying that was our best transfer window ever. Past ones, like the one people have been mentioning, when we signed Van Der Saar, Vidic, Park and Evra are proven fantastic windows as the players were crucial for the club, not to mention wonderfully loyal

Wow factor wise, definitely Di Maria and Falcao. But if we get Pogba then this definitely trumps it. In terms of success, definitely when we signed Anderson, Nani, Tevez and Hargreaves.

The problem I have with this comparision is that I've completely removed Falcoa from my memories and mind. Di Maria was a sad situation though :( Van Gaal didn't suit him at all

Would like to add the one with Carrick coming in....I thought we would be destroyed by Chelsea and Mourinho with them signing Ballack and Shevchenko.

Thankfully it turned out Sheva was Abramovich's wet dream which annoyed Maureen and ended up with the termination. Incredibly stupid by Abramovich
