That's actually not right at all. I am liberal. I do not support the BLM movement. The view on the confederate flag is many things, the main one for me being that it is supporting the confederacy that wanted to keep slavery legal among many other things. The confederacy probably had some things they wanted that I may agree with, but slavery being legal is not one of them and people who fly that flag need to keep in mind that it was one of the main agendas for the confederacy. It would be like if I proudly had a Nazi flag because I support the idea of selective breeding of humans. Hitler had a decent idea trying to create a master race for the world to prosper, but it is morally and ethically fucked, so I am not going to fly a Nazi flag. EDIT: Another example going against your heritage statement though would be if I flew a Nazi flag because I am German and am proud of my heritage.

Yes you might not support BLM but most liberals or at least they high up ones do to receive the black vote. And the main agenda of the confederate was preventing the government from railing over them in tyranny which in any way is unacceptable. Yes slavery is bad. But if the government rules is as mindless robots we are all slaves to them. It's about freedom and what the US was founded on standing up to tyranny not about slavery

I agree. But without explicitly saying what you liked about the confederacy, people will assume and jump to conclusions as they naturally do because most people are too lazy minded to consider other possibilities. Myself included sometimes.
