You know that the girlscouts are gonna use lures to attract more business.

The Boy Scouts will go with our standard approach, knock people unconscious with an overpriced tin of delicious kettle corn and steal their wallet.

My dad always said, when I was selling popcorn, that one in every ten house you go to will be a sale. The first nine usually consist of six "no thanks", two mean dogs barking at you, and one crazy lady (often with many cats) that will ask you for your info and an order form to call later but never does. Then, after that, sometimes you are so fed up you just have to brain a man that seems to live alone with more funds than he really needs.

Maybe if we got to sell something people wanted instead of popcorn...

You just have to sell it well. Or be a girl. In my scout troop whenever we did popcorn, all the ladies in our troop sold oodles more than the guys did. I was always so jealous when they rubbed their sweet ass prizes from selling more in our defeated faces.

Also, from personal experience; the younger the kid selling, the higher the odds of making a sale. I watched as I got plenty of sales as a young cub scout, and then absolutely none as I got older and moved towards eagle. I eventually just gave up and didn't sell the popcorn at all my last few years.

Same story here when I moved up to ventures (I'm Canadian) so most of us just gave up selling except to our families. Which lucky me, my background is massive Scottish family.

Photo does not show angry lemonade boy across the street, waving fist, throwing lemons at ground.

WHY IS NO ONE CALLING IT A POKEMART?!

who needs the pokemart?

THE POKÊMART IS REALLY D'OH

Let's throw a brick-e-mart!

Those floors are sticky mart!

Because given Nintendo's track record they'd be shutting down that store in minutes.

Reggie barrels into the table at full speed, tackling the girl to the ground

Thats just ridiculous. The president of Nintendo of America has better things to do than take on a lemonade stand. Roughing up local businessmen is the job of Wario and Waluigi.

Because like 60% of the people who are playing Pokemon GO don't know anything about pokemon and are just jumping on the pokemon bandwagon

And that's how Hitler rose to power.

And god bless ''em for it. I HOPE this gets new people into pokemon. I hope this allows parents to bond with their kids, partners with their spouses. I hope this gets people who maybe haven't left the house for a while outside. Maybe they're sick or sad or hell just tired, I hope they remember how fun it is to just go for a walk. I hope pokemon go spawns a bunch of spin offs that promote local landmarks and community gathering. I hope it gets big. I hope it gets a band-wagon. That's what games should be doing -- bringing folks together across all backgrounds to have a good time.

Holy shit. People trying to be elitist about pokemon. What a time to be alive.

No, it's because 6 months ago if you were an adult that played pokemon, the majority of people would think you were weird. But now, if you DON'T play pokemon, you are weird. I'm not being an elitist, i just think it's kind of dumb how the standard for playing pokemon has completely flipped since Pokemon GO has been released.

or just don't care about what others think

Noone cares if you don't play pokemon

Selling doritos and lays to people playing on their phones!? I hope there's a giant box of wet wipes under that table, so many greasy phones.

The bags are labeled "not for individual resale" for a reason.

That's due to lack of license and permits. The police aren't the ones who enforce "not packaged for individual sale/resale".

5 dollar drink comes with a free bag of chips. Problem solved.

Hmm, I wonder if that would be enough to get around it. Probably not, I feel lawyers could make a case for the lemonade being priced in such a way that it is assumed people are paying for both or something.

They would just have to say the drink is made with artisan water and is best paired with a salty snack to perfectly bring out the flavor of the vine ripened fruit from douche valley.

That loop hole does in fact work. It's how Jack Daniel's is able to sell you a souvenir bottle filled with alcohol at the end of their tour.

I don't know, why not throw in something on the high end of the value spectrum, and see if that works.

$20,005 Lemonade Bundle Deal - Comes with a 2016 Nissan Altima and a FREE Bag of Chips!

Technically illegal

"Without operations like mine it would be impossible for certain countries trainers to conduct a respectable war poké battle. I was able to navigate around those inconvenient little arms embargoes server issues. There are three basic types of arms poké deals: white, being legal, black, being illegal, and my personal favorite color, gray. Sometimes I made the deal so convoluted, it was hard for me to work out if they were on the level."

She's technically in the gray area. Illegal to resell but she's like, 10 years old.

Lord of War reference? I'll allow it.

Seriously, that movie had a fantastic intro.

It's probably top 10 in my rewatched movies list. It's very good.

That's one of the movies that comes to his defense when everyone wants to jump on Nic Cages is a terrible actor train.

Nic Cage is a great actor who has no problems mailing it in for a paycheck.

When did mailing it in become the new phrase, I always heard/said phoning it in, until today, I've seen mailing it in at least 4 times today on reddit?

[–]Beer_Is_So_Awesome 4ポイント5ポイント  (1子コメント)

I don't know, but I think it's wrong.

"Phoning it in" seems to imply that the actor cares so little about the performance that he's doing it over the telephone from wherever is most convenient for him.

"Mailing it in" means that he's putting the performance in an envelope, and mailing it to the... studio? It makes far less sense than the other version.

He could have easily ran with his pedigree, but changed his name in order to earn his own way. Gotta respect that. You also have to respect his "Micheal Caine" phase where life had financially beaten him to the point where he couldn't afford to pass on anything - he had to keep working. In Cage's defense, he had heavily invested in a high profile investor who ended up going to prison for ponzi schemes, whereas the aforementioned Caine was heavily divorced for a time.

I think the guy is at his best when he is actually 'phoning it in' - Socrerer's Apprentice being a great example: he's only level 3 on the Cage scale, but his dialed down approach makes the movie just perfect.

Define the Cage scale with examples for each number. Please.

Cage Scale:

1 - National Treasure. He's barely awake and all his lines sound like he's yawning

2 - Leaving Las Vegas. Pitch perfect Cage level in this movie, and this should be where he aims to be in every movie.

3 - As referenced, Sorcerer's Apprentice

4 - The Rock

5 - Con Air. Also Anchorman is a good mid-range Cage movie

6 - Season of the Witch. He has one or two level 10 moments, but generally channels enough of Kevin Costner's Robin Hood to make a good movie. Lord of War is a really good Cage Level 6.

7 - Face Off. If he went Cage level 10 this movie would have been perfect.

8 - Bad Lt Port of Call: New Orleans. Not only did most of the viewers of this movie had no idea what was going on, neither did he - so he just went insane for 90 minutes.

9 - Matchstick Men. No explanation needed

10 - WickerMan. The bees themselves were only Cage level 8, but Cage himself was off the charts. I am tempted to label this one as Cage Level: Infinity, but think of this like warp speed - it's exponentially measured so that level 10 is basically infinity itself.

I hope this was what you wanted. If not, Im sure someone with a better insight can come up with something more accurate. For the record, I love every Cage movie I have ever seen, no matter where it is on the scale. He just flat out makes good movies, and I've never been bored watching one. And isn't that the entire point of it all?

Also Raising Arizona and Leaving Las Vegas. Personally, I didn't like Leaving Las Vegas, but he did win the Oscar for best actor for his performance. I think he did a great job in Kick Ass too.

Cage is a terrific actor who sometimes stars in terrible movies. There's a big difference folks!

I'm rewatching that movie today thanks to this

Depends on where you live, not everywhere requires a permit, and health laws can be extremely lenient through cottage laws. Lemonade stands are still pretty prominent in the middle and upper class areas of Oklahoma City.

I have a lemonade stand turf war going on in my neighborhood. The little girls across the street have been setting up every weekend for the past two months. Two weeks ago the girls down the street opened their own stand.

The tension is palpable.

The original girls were doing a pretty good business despite the fact that they are set up in front of their house in the middle of the block.

The new girls have set up at the end of the block. Much more traffic and I hear they have Ice.

Going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

How do you know she doesn't have a license?

Even if she does, she'd also need a release from Nintendo/The Pokémon Company and possibly Niantic in order to use their images to make money.

How do you know she doesn't have a release from Nintendo/The Pokémon Company?

Even if she did, she still needs the express written consent of the national football league

How do you know she doesn't have the written consent of the national football league?

Technically true, but no one from any of those companies is going to go after a little girl.

Technically, you have to be a heartless jackass to shut it down.

But up some battery packs that charge your phone and sell those. Seems like an easy sell. I have three 5,000ma/h packs that I bought for $8 each and sold for $15.

Or bring some folding chairs and a few battery packs with cords so people can plug in and sit down as they play.

EDIT: And follow the lures around with that concept. Or if you make enough money and have prices balanced out, invest in lures and place them yourself when you are out to draw in business

Apple are gonna be pissed they aren’t getting their 30% tho

This was taken minutes before the cops showed up with a cease and desist order because the 7/11 down the street is afraid of taking a hit to their sales.

Swat team. Fully geared.

The SWAT team soon got into a scuffle between the lot of themselves over which team was better. Red ended up killing the little girl. :O

They need to take precautions, she may have dangerous pokemon.

I hope she has a permit for that stand, these cops will get ya

She's selling air, the chips are free.

she got an air dealer's permit and certification?

Or yellow bagged Doritos?

Fuck this explains why I'm the only guy in team instinct in my entire fucking city.

Zapdos is best

I love Zapdos too. But cmon. What kind of motto is that? "The key to a strong Pokemon is hatching eggs."

Where I live they sell Doritos in yellow bags that are just regular corn chips with no flavoring

I think it is yellow. Probably because they are transparent and stacked it looks darker than it truly is.

As if anyone plays Instinct

Cooler ranch and blue-flavored drink, proving the supremacy of Mystic

Right? This was posted twice yesterday. OP didn't even copy the better pic by the girls relative.

Amazing job on that sign, seriously, very impressed

Yellow should always be funyuns. Funyuns ftw. Besides, instinct is the odd chip out apparently.

I was hoping for some of that purple stuff.

Wasn't this literally posted yesterday? And people have already forgot?

I get that it's a repost but I didn't forget about it. I just never saw it. I dont generally visit this sub but like the content that hits my frontpage.

[–]the_jumping_brain 7ポイント8ポイント  (0子コメント)

Well... not everybody spends ALL their time on Reddit to see every single post. Hell, I do and I still missed this one yesterday!

Woot mystic gets cool ranch

Those bags are not for resale, hope she enjoys prison.

She's selling the juice. Chips are complementary.

(I doubt this is actually true, but maybe that could work as a loophole? Also, who's going to prosecute a little kid?)

Childhood obesity, cool

It makes me sad everytime I see it. How can someone do this to a child? :(

You are getting downvoted, because for some reason letting your kid adopt the condition that is the #1 leading cause of death in the US is totally ok.

Yet people look at me funny when I don't give my daughter junk, she's not even 2 yet

Those are called "ignorant people who would make horrific parents".

Fuck them, I wish my parents fed me correctly, encouraged exercise from a younger age, and generally know about nutrition. I had to learn it the hard way.

As a child my parents practically enforced having less junk food and exercising, I hated it since all other kids were eating sour patches and donuts for lunch and I had a sandwich. Now when I look back Im thankful they did that because I'm not bothered anymore in avoiding unhealthy food.

Keep on being a good parent and don't think about what other people think of your parenting. You're raising her, not them.

Can't we all just appreciate a little girl having a fun time doing something she clearly loves?

Yeah. I agree. It's pretty fucking sad that this poor girl is immediately noticed for being fat before being super crafty and smart.

I live in a mostly hispanic suburb southeast of Chicago, and literally every child on my block is obese. Really makes me sick and appalled at these childrens parents.

sometimes i get mad about stuff that has literally no impact on my life too.

Watched a documentary the other night on it and it showcased some of these poor kids. The culprit is the quantities of sugar in so much of our food. They stated the AHA recommend daily max sugar servings is 6-9 Teaspoons while the average american kid would get an upwards to 80-100 teaspoons a day.

Edit: Teaspoon* not tablespoons

The culprit is children consuming more calories than they need. Sugar makes that easier. Parents not knowing how to feed their kids in moderation is the real issue.

forget sugar, they just need to stop eating like 3k+ calories of food, it doesn't really matter where its coming from, just stop being a fatass.

I have to point out that it REALLY doesn't matter where the calories come from when you eat THAT much, because I do meet people that think eating 4k calories is ok as long as its from "all natural healthy foods".

The culprit is the quantities of sugar in so much of our food.

No the culprit is the parent responsible for the food choices of thier child.

Where is her food operation license?!

Holy shit this is a toxic thread.

what's toxic about criticizing the body proportions, cup colour purchasing abilities, and commercial law knowledge of a child who is objectively more proactive than any of us?

I know. She's a goddamn child. Bullying doesn't fix anything.

She's capitalizing on this more than I've seen actual shops do. Every place I go to has just generic Pokemon merch, nothing for PokeGo teams. I just want a bumper sticker for Valor. Not even Spencer's sells one.

Instinct it is, then. F*ck Doritos.

[–]The_Taciturn_Texan 6ポイント7ポイント  (0子コメント)

Someone needs to find these kids and issue them citations. There's no way they have the proper permits.

well shit. this is smart

A guy at my university has a taco stand and he stops at pokéstops and uses lure modules to bring people to his taco stand.

Team Mystic gets the best chips. Fuck yeah!

Have the police shut her down yet?

Sorting by controversial isn't even needed here.

Hope she's got a permit, or else she's going to Pokemon Go out of business.

those cups arent yellow little girl

And once again we have reason as to why team mystic is best, cooler ranch Dorito's.

Nice display. Shame so many nasty comments in this thread are towards a child, quite pathetic.

More proof that instinct is lame.

Hey! Instinct is cool!

We were going to buy you some chips

I hope she is running around catching pokemon on her brake. Because, uh, insert diatribe on childhood obesity that makes me seem sensitive but I still get to call her fat.

FYI... Should at lest blurr out the face if you're going to be taking pictures of minors.
