You are aware that the "Democratic" party of the 1800's was the conservative right party, aren't you? Or has someone been looking to Dinesh D'Souza for American history lessons?

The Republican Party of Lincoln stood for Federal control when States violated human rights and secular laws when Christianity trounced on the freedom of Americans. The Democratic party was full of States Rights, bible loving zealots who don't see humans as anything more than assets for corporations to profit off of. Sound familiar? The official switch in the parties came during the FDR administration.

Don't get me wrong, I think the BLM movement is woefully misinformed about the reality of police violence (you can thank CNN and their ilk for shuffling every white and Latino murdered by cops to the bottom of the rotation for that) and there are some definite hate-filled bigots in the movement, but that doesn't mean BLM has no merit and we don't have a long way to go in terms of equality.

Really? Why was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr a Republican? Why were the Democrats trying to stop the Civil Rights movement? Because it aimed to unite people and the Democrats have always been about racial division, from the very founding of the party all the way to today when they promote divisive pro-segregationist ideas like "identity politics" and as well as divisive pro-segregationist movements like BLM.

BLM is a violent and pro-segregationist racist organization. If you want to continue to support them that is on you and you are completely within your rights, just know you are on the wrong side of history and supporting a group that is essentially a post-modern incarnation of the KKK.

Nothing you just said is correct. MLK was never a Republican. You can look up the switch in party ideologies very easily. The party that started and fought for slavery (and began the KKK) was the party of conservative, bible thumping, states rights Christians. Conservatives left the Democratic party after FDR passed the New Deal (which saved America from The great depression) because they saw it as turning to socialism, and joined the modern Republican party.

I'm sure there were a few racist democrats who fought for segregation but if they did they were following their religious convictions more than there party affiliations.

Again, I think the BLM message is factually misguided but saying they're all racists and pro segregationists would be like me calling every conservative Robert Deer and saying you shot up the Colorado Planned Parenthood. BLM is a loose congregation of people who think Cops target black kids more than other races, saying anything else about them is a Straw Man fallacy.

Stop spreading revisionist lies. The Democrats have always been about racist segregation and division from the very beginning and still are with their encouragement of pro-segregation identity politics and pro-segregation hate movements like BLM. The Democrats brought us the Civil War, the KKK, Manzanar, and actively fought against the civil rights movement lead by MLK Jr. Manzanar, incase you forgot, was a concentration camp where Japanese Americans were interned illegally for no other reason than their race and ancestry, and forced to perform sweatshop labor to aid the war effort against their ancestral home. Democrat super hero FDR was entirely responsible for this travesty and crime and never answered for it and the Democrats still deify him.

Hillary Clinton was mentored by the KKK leader Robert Byrd, a man who actively did all he could to oppose MLK's Civil Rights movement. Hillary Clinton is responsible for the mass incarceration of black people in America and is on record as referring to them as "Super predators".

Educate yourself. Stop spewing out revisionist history.

I've been telling you that you're right when you say "democrats" brought about slavery, the civil war, and the KKK. Those things on surface level are factually correct. What you're not listening to is that democrats were conservatives and republicans were the liberal party until FDR. Yes Japanese internment camps were terrible things but nobody praises FDR because of them. They praise him for winning the war and saving us from the depression.

In case you weren't aware, you posted a meme as "proof" of your claim, so you're more and more looking like a troll at this point. I checked that website and even they say MLK wasn't a Republican. And they also allude to what I was pointing out earlier, the change in party ideology over time.

I urge you to look up what the Republican Party under Lincoln looked like. It's not revisionist, it's just history.

The idea that the parties "switched sides" is nothing but revisionism. The Democrats today are still dedicated to racial segregation, through their encouragement of the pro-segregation hate group BLM and divisive pro-segregation identity politics.

I have a firm grasp of US history. The myth that the parties switched sides is pure revisionism.
