With all of these huge transfers happening this summer with the likes of Zlatan, Mkhitaryan, Bailly and now most likely Pogba I need to express how happy I am with the direction our club is going.

I know a lot of people don't see Mourinho as a long term manager, and I'm not saying I disagree, but I'm glad this club has finally shown discontent with where it's at right now and made big steps towards putting ManU back on the map. Its about damn time. I'm ready to see our team dominate the pitch again. Fuck everyone saying that we're the next Liverpool and our time is over - I think all the changes that've been made this summer is huge statement. I can't fucking wait to see what the team looks like at the end of the transfer market!!

I think Mourinho needs to see himself as the long term option too though.

Let's face it, I'm not expecting a long term stay here. Nothing in his past is indicative of it, I hope he proves me wrong.

At the start of the window I was concerned that we wouldn't be able to attract any players. And now, a few weeks later I feel as if we're on the cusp of being amazing again.

14/15 transfer window was the same way though.

A striker who was immense, but coming along with a risk (injury vs age), Falcao vs Zlatan.
An expensive midfielder we need to break teams down. Di Maria vs Pogba.
A young defensive option who has some potential to be great. Shaw vs Bailly.
Season 1 of LvG vs Season 1 of Mourinho.

Granted, I'll take Miki every day over Herrera/Rojo/Blind, but let's not act like we haven't been looking forward to a season of change, and that our club did not try before.

Honestly Zlatan is a way smaller risk than Falcao, his age is not really significant given he still performs on top level and he's also not injury prone like Falcao.

Also Di Maria was a really specific case, the circumstances weren't right (burglary) and everyone knew he didn't really care about us and just wanted a fast exit from Real.

Shaw had kinda mediocre first season but was looking amazing until the big injury so don't really see the point here also the adaptation for Bailly is kinda harder, Shaw already had some experience with English football so don't really feel the comparison here.

I'm sure Mourinho knows how to get the best out of the new players.

We saw with RvP how a player can go from hero to zero by the time the new season rolls around.
Shaw was definitely thought of higher than Bailly, mainly because we'd seen him week in week out.
We thought LvG knew how to get the best out of players.

I'm as excited as everyone else, but all I'm saying is we've counted our chickens once before.

Another specific case and not really comparable to Zlatan. RvP was hit by injuries (same as Falcao) also his relationship with LvG didn't really work out. Zlatan's relationship with Mou is a whole nother story.

I get your point though, I'm not saying all those transfers are going to work out perfectly, just trying to say it's not exactly the same as the 14/15 transfer window.

Zlatan over Falcao has already been addressed by /u/Fraaj . Pogba is a once in a generation player. He's 23. The most complete midfielder in the game. ADM is definitely a good player but nowhere near Pogba's potential.

That's a good point.

I'm not exactly trying to say Manu hasn't made big moves to put us back on the map in the past and I was super hopeful that year, but I have more hope this year. I like how we're building off the team we have rather than clearing house like LVG did over his two summers. We were really unfortunate with Di Maria and Falcao (and memphis last year for that matter), but with more bit depth I think we're better equipped to ride out obstacles than before.

On the other hand,, we'll be the laughing stock of the entire football world if we don't win the league :/ It's a risk I can live with though.
