Even when he started out he took corners and the occasional free kcik but when was it decided that he should take over the penalty kick/ free kick duties. Even though there was Rooney, Giggs, Scholes?

After Rooney missed a penalty in 06/07 I think, Ronaldo took the next one we got and scored. Became the main penalty taker after that.
