Silly season has returned for the 4th summer on /r/reddevils!

Most of you know the drill.

For those who don't...From today until the window closes, a transfer round-up & discussion thread will be made every day. In these threads, ANYTHING can be talked about. Any player, in or out, any transfer fee, anything!

Now, with these threads starting, this means that rumours submitted as separate posts will be removed unless they are from reliable sources!

With today's developments, feeling really good about the upcoming season, really think we could push for titles, this is definitely our year. Here's why:

  • Destroyed Wigan 2-0 recently
  • Top Class manager, easily the best in the world
  • Can attract world-class players even without CL
  • Bought a serious young prospect at CB
  • A quality £35m RW
  • Brought in easily the best free transfer ever
  • On brink of signing one of the best attacking midfielders in the world. Haters say he's overpriced but it takes big money to prise one of the best players away from that mighty team in black & white stripes
  • All this while expertly dealing with the departure of our best player of the last 20 years

It truly is a great time to be a red!

I know it's early days, but I genuinely feel like it's a bullet dodged by avoiding Klopp. That's such a phenomenally underwhelming transfer window given their budget.

They can't attract Zlatan & Pogba level players but they can surely aim a little higher than Sadio Mané with their money & prestige - they've been to 2 CL finals in the last decade & the EL final last season.

I get the feeling he's going to be the counter attack philosophy version of Wenger in the PL. He'll keep them in the top 7 every season playing beautiful football but crumble under pressure, consistently fail to make the necessary big signings and plague the squad with injuries every time he has some momentum.

He's a phenomenal manager but he has such a small club mentality. A bit like Bielsa, he really doesn't have it in him to manage elite players.

I am sticking by my belief that Juve leaked false info about Madrid wanting Pogba to speed up the deal. Especially when you consider the Spanish papers are still saying Madrid are out of the deal.

Still, the longer the deal takes to complete, the higher chance there is of Madrid swooping in. Just get it done Woody! Please?

I'm sticking to my belief that Madrid offered a bigger transfer fee & more wages but Pogba rejected Madrid because he only loves United.

Also, because we're the biggest club in the universe. (UK, India, China & America are basically 80% of the relevant part of the universe anyway.)

Express - Pogba's agent to net £18m if Pogba transfers to United

Daily Star - The star have the fee at £105m and even have an embedded video of Mourinho playing pokemon lol

Metro - Interestingly, Metro say Juventus' director has denied that any contact had been made on Pogba as of an hour after I type this, seems to go back to an interview with Sportitalia

There's about 100 more links saying a fee has been agreed with Juventus and that it'll likely be concluded very soon.

Varane

101 Great Goals - Mourinho apparently wants him at United but the 23 year old has said he's staying at Real Madrid.

Peninsula - Yet everybody's favourite Qatari newspaper think it's plausible that Varane joins us...

Yep, ESPN claim we're after Bonucci while currently negotiating with Juve for Pogba. Chelsea and City are also reportedly interested and Juve want £50m
