Goals and Expectations for 2016/17 (self.reddevils)

What are your realistic goals and expectations this season?

Is it realistic to think we can contend for the PL title, repeat as FA Cup champions, and win the Europa League? Or would winning one, while adding CL play next season, be enough this season?

We can definitely win the league. But any top 6 team from last year can. For me I'd be happy to be in contention come April/May and win Europa League.

If we're scraping for 4th yet again, even if we achieve it, I'll consider the season a failure. If we finish third but are 15 points behind the Champions, I'll consider it a failure. We aren't arsenal. We shouldn't be patting ourselves on the back for achieving mediocrity.

Once pogba arrives i think we are favourites to win the league. Not sure if mourinho will take the europa league seriously but use it as a chance to played the youngsters/2nd team.

Yep, no way the likes of Ibra, Rooney, and Mkhi will be played in the Europa league, unless we make it to the quarters or semis, and it would still depend on the league situation

Not to say last season was any good, but winning the FA cup really did make me feel A LOT better about it overall. competitive for title and a cup would make this season good for me.

If we sign Pogba then I would be happy with a top 2 in the PL and deep runs in the FA Cup and Europa League but knowing Jose, we would probably win something. Honestly, it's more about the football that we play and the fact that Jose knows his starting 11 as soon as possible (It took around LvG 50 games if that!).

I want us to at absolute minimum, get top 3. Competing for the title with a squad like ours (and if we add Pogba too) is a must and a good run in both cups (semi-final at least in one of them). For the Europa, I'm not too fussed but if we get to the quarters then I want to see us take it seriously.

Our 2nd squad will closely resemble our starting lineup from last season. Memphis-Rashford-Lingard up top with any mid-field combination we want to use. CBJ-Blind-Jones-Valencia in front of Romero. That squad should be good enough to get by most of the championship level competition we play in the early domestic cups. Might even be good enough against early Europa League competition.

Im not well versed on past Mourinho teams, but did he make wholesale changes, in non CL tournaments, while he was at Chelsea?

If we get Pogba then we should be winning the league and maybe a cup.

Without Pogba then 2nd or 3rd with a title challenge and a cup.

Top 3 running the champions close if we don't win it. Win one of the cups hopefully. Play some good watchable football
