Brzezinski Dismantles Trump’s ‘Harsh’ Chairman Manafort: ‘It’s Like Lurch Leading a Campaign’

The Trump camp might want to send a few staffers to the set of Morning Joe to pick up whatever pieces of Paul Manafort is left after getting destroyed by Mika Brzezinski this morning.

Manafort, the chief for the Donald J. Trump campaign, firmly put his foot in his mouth yesterday when he suggested that the accusations of plagiarism against Melania Trump were planted by — get this — Hillary Clinton. “When Hillary Clinton is threatened by a female, the first thing she does is try and destroy the person,” said Manafort to reporters.

On Morning Joe Wednesday, Brzezinski incredulously offered, “This is unbelievable, I can’t believe this guy,” before unflatteringly comparing Manafort to Lurch from The Addams Family.

“He is the most negative, harsh sort of person I’ve ever seen leading a campaign,” said Brzezinski. “It’s like Lurch leading a campaign. No, seriously. I’m telling the truth.”

After the clip of Manafort invoking the former Secretary of State played, the Morning Joe host could barely contain herself. “He didn’t do that, did he? He said it was a female thing?” she asked Nicolle Wallace directly. “He used the word ‘female’? Are you kidding me? What year is it? Is this 1970, Lurch?”

Yesterday, Brzezinski noted that the embattled campaign chief, “ought to look for a different job,” following the Melania Trump flap, as people identified striking similarities to Michelle Obama‘s 2008 speech at the Democratic National Convention.
