anyone speding that much on a PC build is looking for something that can barely play the current gen games and is not wanting to play anything future.

No, not on consoles. But you don't build a PC to be on par with a console. You build a PC to run Witcher 3 in 4k. Plus you want to be able to run the next generation of engines on PC before you have to upgrade.
