I feel Ethan now is being looked to as youtube's moral compass and he is taking that role seriously. He is kinda like Phill DiFranco but he is more in the middle of a lot of drama where DiFranco is more commenting from the side. When Ethan calls out someone people notice and act by brigading channels and reporting truly disgusting content like this. I think leafy was a turning point where ethan saw how easy it would be for someone with a little popularity and reputation to hurt someone else who doesnt deserve it. Ethan 's no longer bullshitting with his wife about stupid videos, not when hundreds of thousands watch and act on what he says. So Ethan has been putting more work into his videos, more reasoning about why he is singling out the people in his videos and being a bit more seriousness because that is what is necessary for someone with his influence. Personally I think Ethan choice to sacrifice a bit of the fun of his videos to do them "right" is really impressive.
