Color: Silver Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
After having owned four other styli for my iPads over the last two years, the Adonit Jot Pro Fine is the one I now carry and use almost daily. (I’ve owned: The Pencil by 53, a no-name “squishy tip” stylus, the bluetooth enabled Evernote stylus, and the Wacom Bamboo.)

The Jot Pro is solid aluminum, and the craftsmanship is excellent. It’s light, strong, and looks great. It has an integrated clip that is actually useful, and the clear plastic disk on the tip provides a view in to where the tip actually is on the iPad before you start drawing. The disk looks “funny” at first, but you soon grow to understand its purpose and appreciate it being there.

I’ve used the Jot Pro with apps like Penultimate, Paper by 53, Photoshop, etc. and it works flawlessly with all of them. I prefer using the Jot Pro for light sketching of ideas (I’m not an artist… not even close) that I save to Evernote or email to people after a meeting, annotating a photo I’ve taken, and other similar activities.

I do occasionally take handwritten notes with the Jot Pro, and I find Penultimate by Evernote and the Jot Pro to be the absolute best combination for this task. The Jot Pro takes great advantage of Penultimate’s features (like variable line drawing thickness), too.

Overall, this is the best stylus on the market in my opinion. It doesn’t need batteries and it does most of the things other styli do without bluetooth connections, charging, etc. Easy 5-stars.

I've been debating between this stylus and the "Pencil" by FiftyThree for quite a while now. I finally decided to go for a passive stylus rather than an active (bluetooth) one because I wanted my stylus to work the same way for every app.

I've had this stylus for about a week now quite a bit, and I like it a lot. I use it to sketch ideas in the Paper app by FiftyThree as well as in the "Concepts" app for iPad. It's as sensitive as any stylus I've used- that is to say, not as responsive as your finger, but pretty close and it's not the stylus' fault. It does drop sensitivity if you use it at a shallow angle. I love the clear disc and being able to see what I'm actually doing rather than poking at the screen with a big rubber finger and hoping my drawing comes out ok.

The stylus is very well designed- I love the integrated clip and the machined-in grip rather than a rubber one. The cap rotates on smoothly and the overall experience is very satisfying and premium. I also really like that part of the packaging becomes a holder for the stylus- it's a clever way to package things and I wish that more companies made the packaging for longer-term use like this.

I have a couple of minor quibbles, but they are there- the stylus pretty much doesn't work for handwritten notes. I add some text to my idea sketches and my writing just doesn't pick up well with this stylus. I'm not sure if it's the spring-dampened tip not working well with my writing style or what. This doesn't matter too much to me- I mostly draw with it.

Finally, it's no longer magnetized so it doesn't cling to your iPad like the old version did. It's solid aluminum instead.

Styluses in our household are a bit like pens in many others. You need enough around the place so that you can always put your hands on one of them for the myriad iPads, iPhones and other touch screen devices. As a result of this I have tried quite a variety which vary between the soft pad type and the rather novel design of the Adonit.

I have to say that this is my preferred stylus for several reasons. Firstly the design of the tip is very novel and feels that you are hitting the screen with a biro tip, whereas in fact, because of the circular disc, you are distributing the contact over a wider area to protect the screen. As a result of this, this stylus is much more accurate than the soft pad ones in actually pinpointing whatever you are trying to contact and it has a very positive feel about it. I prefer the pen length of this to the smaller Adonit Mini and find it easier to use. I also like the finish which is easier to grip than a smooth surface. I would mention that the devices I tried this with both had screen protectors, which proved to be no bar at all to the effective operation of the stylus. I have not always found this to be the case even with more expensive styluses.

When you are spending out hundreds of pounds on your state of the art touch screen device it seems something of a false economy to get a very cheap stylus to go with it. This is a high quality stylus and a worthwhile investment to complement your phone or pad.

As a postscript, something I have subsequently learned is that the precision tips deteriorate with time, and you can get spares. They also can detach and go missing so its always a good idea to put the protective cap back on when not in use.

I've been using it for the past few days and I've loved it up until this point. It would've gotten 5 stars except I found a design flaw when it rolled off my desk and the plastic disk fell off. I usually put the cap on before I put down the pen, but I didn't this time because I was only planning on setting it down for a minute to adjust myself on my seat. Luckily I was in my room when this happened or else the disk would've been gone forever. I searched for 10 minutes (no exaggeration) before finding it, but the part where it attaches to the pen had cracked, which made it flimsy when put back on the pen. The design flaw is that the pen's in a cylinder shape. If the clip were to stick out even a slight bit, this whole rolling-off-the-desk problem could've been avoided. Now, I'm forced to fork over more money for these stupid replacement discs.

Pretty disappointed. Use-wise, it works well though. Moral of this review: ALWAYS put the cap back on when placing the pen down, EVEN if it's just for a millisecond.
